I called on a saturday night at 9:30 after Christmas shopping & tried to place an order to pick up on the way home, they told me they closed because bussiness was slow,so ridiculous..Why couldn't they stay open for another half hour is beyond me.
I went into the restaurant with an open mind and was very surprised at how rude the staff was. It took forever for them to visit our table, we waited FOREVER for our food and there were only 4 other people dining. Avoid this place, the service sucks.
Whoever has complaints about the staff here is just flat out wrong - I've been going to this Johnnie's location for years now and have never been mistreated in the slightest. Nothing but great service and excellent chow. They get awfully busy during game times - I wouldn't recommend getting a pie delivered on a Saturday afternoon or Monday night during football season. Beyond that, pizza is great, pasta dishes are top quality and ample size, and the prices are reasonable. Great neighborhood Italian joint here on the Miracle Mile.
At the referral of a co-worker, I ordered a pizza for pick-up and ate it whilst watching sports by myself in my apartment. The next day, I found myself extremely flatulent, and my poor secretary thinks I am gross now. I will not be a repeat customer.
I'm originally from NY so I'm pretty selective. I must say the main reason I've continued going to Johnies is their food. They have great pizza, salads, soup, meatballs. I'm not too thrilled about their pasta, but I just order the meatballs.
When I originally started going to Johnies there service was aweful, something was always wrong. However I think they are under new management because there is a new hostess and my orders have been great. My reason for giving this place a 5 instead of a lower score, dispite the service problems is because this is one of the only Pizza places that reminds me of NY and thats saying a lot coming from me. Its definitly worth a shot=)
Good neighborhood Italian on the Miracle Mile. They're famous for the unique tang of their pizza crust, but our favorite items are the roasted turkey panini and the New York chopped salad. Plenty of comfy booths, a speedy take-out counter, and outdoor tables. The waiters are handsome too. Another bonus: Heineken and the house lager are on tap.
