Casa Bianca Pizza Pie

Description

Since opening over 50 years ago, Casa Bianca has been a local favorite. The walls are covered with memorabilia, from autographed head-shots of no-name celebrities to Italian artifacts. Casa Bianca draws in families, couples, professionals, hipsters and anyone else within a 10-mile radius. The pizzeria is cozy, upbeat and casual. The pizza is the best item on the menu. They offer traditional toppings, like pepperoni and adventurous ones, like eggplant. Some nights you may even wait over an hour, but it's worth it. After the meal you'll understand why night after night the line is out the door.

This place is a big mistake if it's the first pizza you eat. It ruins you for pizza the rest of your life; you will never enjoy pizza at any other establishment again. "Oh, but it's a big world," you say,.... but I've been to other places, Italy, New York, Paris, the Croation Coast, on and on, and no one touches this place! Imagine the giddiness inside me as I'm boarding a plane to N.Y. City, the anticipation of the Greenwich Village pizzarias that we've all heard so much about. I figured... if Casa Bianca's is that good, then N.Y. must be better since the owners of Bianca ship their ingredients from New York. I tried this Ray's and the other Famous Ray's, then a quaint authentic Italian joint, to no satisfaction. Was I expecting too much? Possibly, I suspect so. I didn't even finish my pizza slices at either Ray's. At 44 years of age, I've just stopped looking for a better pizza. After-all there are other discoveries to make at this place , it's rumored that the rest of their food is also great. I know the antipasta salad is another "Best I've ever had," yet another yardstick that no other establishment has ever measured up to. If I ever get the strength to walk into this place and order anything but the salad and pizza, I might find out for myself. A few notes about the joint: they are closed Sunday & Monday, open at 11:am, expect a line going out the door after 4:pm every other day, expect a 1-2 hour wait after 5 especially on a Friday or Saturday, (...if you do plan to wait out the line-bring some snack food or someone to run and get snack food for you, otherwise you may pass-out from the heavenly odor hitting you every time the door swings open.),first come-first served, the locals swamp this place as well as newbies. Enjoy!

Pizza is the thing here. The food is nothing special and you have to wait a long time for it. There are plenty of better family-style Italian places in Pasadena

I don't know why this place is always touted as having the best pizza in LA. The pizza is mediocre at best; haphazardly prepared and sliced. Not worth the long waits.

Others have sited Casa Bianca as the best pizzeria in the city. I wouldn't to that far. It is a great choice for locals for pizza, their other menu items don't seem to stand out. Waits can be long, but they do have take out available.

If only they had longer hours of operation and took reservations.

Excellent sausage and fried eggplant pizza, but the be very patient as the wait time is excruciatingly long.

Best NY style pizza in LA area. Thin crisp crust and fresh tasting ingredients. Other dishes are nothing special.
