Vim Thai-Chinese Restaurant, Los Angeles

My parents used to go when they were in the small vermont location since the early 80's..cult following the recipes have not change. Ask any central american especially Salvadorean's like myself on what they think of Vim...Favorite plates are : spicy seafood soup (thats the #1 thing order here), shrimp fried rice, papaya salad, pad thai with shrimp, shrimp with baby corn/mushroom, chicken satay...they even have pinapple rice that is served to you in a real pinapple shell, you have to ask since its not on the menu. Also if thristy, you can order a to go thai ice tea or coffee and they bring it to you in a 32 oz cup. Only downside is parking which is crazy on the weekends and cash only but at a bargain. Once you go Vim's you will not go back to no where else. No frills just good thai cuisine.

The food here is so great and yes it's true that it's always crowded... but it's worth the wait. I like the Garlic Chicken with Mint Leave, chicken chow mein and the seafood soup.

I've been going to Vims (original) since the early 90's when they were located on Vermont, they are best Thai Restaurant in nthe area , with decent prices. My favorite dishes are shrimp fried rice, seafood soup(spicy), shrimp w/ babycorn n mushroom. Its even good for the kids, my kids love it .

my family has been eating here for over 19yrs, back when they where on vermont ave.The food is always good,the service is great and throughout the years we have made a long lasting friendship with the owner and the staff(we miss art).They never forget what we like to order(shrimp chilli garlic with mint leave, curry chicken fried rice ,won tons and thai ice tea. OMG

The food is excellent but do not go Sunday afternoon the wait is to long and overcowded. Go during the week. Great Seafood soup.

been going to vims since i can remember. my grandparents started taking my mother and siblings when they were just a hole in the wall and the only parking they had was fitted for about only eight cars. We've been going since and now with my siblings and i have to say they still have that spice that constantly keeps me going.
