Description

Since 1928, this L.A. standby has been offering 24-hour casual dining in the heart of the Fairfax district. You'll find the food here authentic and the people-watching amazing. Everyone from The Wallflowers to K.D. Lang and Madonna has stopped in to eat here. Favorites include the in-house pickled corned beef pastrami, the hot corned beef, the tender beef brisket and the many offerings from the in-house bakery. Next door is the Kibitz Room, where there's live music most nights. A full bar and decent wines work well with the food.

Best Deli west of the Hudson is BRENTS IN NORTHRIDGE AND WESTLAKE - always busy so always fresh. Huge portions -2 can share. Friendly service . Worth the trip and the wait.

Best corned beef sandwich I've ever had. Fantastic bakery. Parking right next door. Keep your eyes open in the neighborhood. Service basically sucks but some people seem to love being treated rudely. You gotta go upstairs to an old fashioned bathroom to take a leak. We saw Andy Garcia there once...he was also rude so he fit right in. Food A+ Bakery A+ Atmosphere A+ Comfortable seating B- Grouchy waitresses right out of a Geritol commercial C- Ceiling A+

I was visiting my wife's family in LA recently and had dinner at Canter's on a Sunday evening. The service was somewhat slow (we were stuck in the back section and were ready to order for a good 20 minutes) but it was ultimately friendly service and the food was good. My chief complaint was that someone had thrown up all over the men's room and the mess had not been cleaned up.

I love the fish platters, great food and prices.Hard to find kosher food in Northern california.Once a year i make a trip to Canters.My experience was pleasant, great food and atmosphere.
