Pico Kosher Deli

Description

L.A.'s first kosher deli is owned and operated by the Hacht family. As you enter, you will be greeted with smiling faces that'll make you feel right at home. The atmosphere here is simple and clean, which is perfect for a hearty lunch of deli sandwiches like corned beef or pastrami. Or try one of the fabulous homemade soups like the Chicken Matzo Ball or Mushroom Barley. All-time favorites here are the Beef Shish Kabob, Chicken Schnitzel and the Beef Goulash. There is a convenient parking lot on premises. No alcohol is served.

piled-high deli food
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/17/10
Very good classic deli food. If you don't like a sandwich with too much meat (and are feeling cheap), you can order one sandwich and 4 slices of bread- it's more than enough!

AMAZING!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/22/09
This well located restaurant is a very relaxing place to just grab a meal with friends and family. The food may sound simple but it is outstanding and very large portions!

Horrible service, quality of food has greatly diminished. Was much better in the past, but now I will NEVER EVER go there again.

wow, where should I start? I walked in this place with my friend and the customer service sucked. Maybe it was just me but I think you should be dressed like a movie star or something for you to get good service! It was early and I didn't feel like getting all dressed up for......a C class Deli? I hope to remain anonymous but I can reassure you that I will NEVER be spending my money here ever again. If I wanted attitude then I would've gone to McDonalds.

best kosher deli in the entire US
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/1/07
This is hands down the best kosher deli in the U.S., even including New York. If you have an appetite, order a couple of things so you can try more. I recommend the Deli Burger, which is topped with crisp pastrami. Also, you MUST get the cabbage soup. Incredible. Finally, be sure to try their dough-wrapped hot dogs. Truth is though, you can't go wrong no matter what you order. Oooh, and be sure to pick up a kugel for $5.50 in the fridge at the front. It will last you for a couple of days and there are so many yummy flavors. This really is my favorite deli!!!

Kosher does not mean good.
By bernard, 10/18/07
I went to this place only because my friend keeps strictly kosher and the real Jewish delis, the best of which in L.A. is Langers, do not. I went to PKD lusting for Langers, hoping to find some item that would sate my deli desire. The stale rye bread on the sandwich at PKD's did not, the canned pickles did not, the bacon masquerading as pastrami did not, the Ralph's sliced turkey did not. Even the mushy coleslaw was bad. Is there a worthwhile kosher deli in Metro L.A. that has the deli food I grew up with in N.Y? There are places in Iowa that have better deli food tham PKD. I tremble imagining worse deli food anywhere.

I never visit L.A. without eating there.

Great food! Nice people. I have eaten deli in many places around the USA and abroad, and I rate PKD as number one, hands down.
