Description

A bit of history about Manuelac2s Original El Tepeyac CafA(C). Founded in 1942 by the Rojas family; originally called El Tupinamba CafA(C), located in downtown LA; which then moved to Lincoln Heights, there known as La Villa CafA(C). In 1952 the family made its final move to Boyle Heights, where it would be known as El Tepeyac CafA(C), now the home of the ever famous acoeManuel Specialac ac" - the FIVE POUND BURRITO! After the untimely death of his father, Salvador Rojas, Manuel stepped in and along with his mother Rebecca, took the restaurant and built it to become the neighborhood restaurant of Los Angeles and for all who come. Manuel has been involved over the years with several organizations such as the local Optimist Club, Rotary Club and has generously contributed to most local community and school events.

Ive seen them recycle food myself. The thought of that makes me sick. And by the way, what kind of authentic mexican restaurant puts lettuce in a burrito? I understand that this place is an icon, but I have eaten at much better mexican restaurants.

WOW! What a place to lose your food self restraint. Everything is good and the prices are better. Can't lose here, just be willing to wait during Sunday rush. Real food not like TacoBell and the like...

I live right across the street from Manny's and have had a great time EVERY TIME I have eaten there. Just remember how much money you are taking out of your wallet before you write a less than stellar review. The people are great and so is the service. I would'nt think twice about taking a friend, my boss or the president to eat there and the presidente in your coffee is just great. Come in eat and get out. Talk about how good the food was on your way back to Orange County. If you want to teach your kids the value of hard work take them to EL TEPAYAC.

I've been going to this place since I was born and I am now going to be 23. This is the BEST mexican food place ever. My parents went here before me and my sisters were even born. They would go on dates there. I always order the Hollenbeck. And Manuel, the owner, has known me and my family forever.
