Description

A bit of history about Manuelac2s Original El Tepeyac CafA(C). Founded in 1942 by the Rojas family; originally called El Tupinamba CafA(C), located in downtown LA; which then moved to Lincoln Heights, there known as La Villa CafA(C). In 1952 the family made its final move to Boyle Heights, where it would be known as El Tepeyac CafA(C), now the home of the ever famous acoeManuel Specialac ac" - the FIVE POUND BURRITO! After the untimely death of his father, Salvador Rojas, Manuel stepped in and along with his mother Rebecca, took the restaurant and built it to become the neighborhood restaurant of Los Angeles and for all who come. Manuel has been involved over the years with several organizations such as the local Optimist Club, Rotary Club and has generously contributed to most local community and school events.

These bad reviews are crazy! I ve been going here my whole life and the place is fantastic! I live in Anaheim now and still make the occasional trip out there. The hollenbeck and machaca are well worth the trip!

The hostess was very rude and let people walk in to eat @ the booth while other people along with me where waiting in line plain Rude they need to really learn their customer service .. Another thing the waitress kept my changed and ignored us then like if we were not their 12-9-2011 8:pm today .. I work with customers everyday .. and I think they failed

Con: It is very disappointing that they do not substitute guacamole for sour cream. Their service is rude. They mock their customers. I heard servers on the phone insulting customers after hanging up on the phone, using vulgar language in Spanish. They have no respect. Elena and Laura do not seem happy to be working there. Pro: Tepeyac has good food. Carlos and Mirasela were nice. In the end, the food is good. It is slightly overpriced; but I will not go to an establishment that treats their customers in such a terrible manner.

HORRIBLE !!!! HORRible!!!! HORRIBLE!!!! I will NOT be going back to this place !!!!!! The SERVICE totally SUCKED !!!! the little fat old ladies are completely rude, i think they need to stay home and watch their novelas instead of being waitresses. It took about 15-20 minutes to just get our guacamole and chips, the food was not that great as people say either, i agree the portions are big but COME ON !!!! I've tasted way better burritos than this place!!! even their soda didnt taste right!!!! VERY DISAPPOINTED !!! Bye Bye El Barf Tepeyac Cafeteria !!!

I have been going to this place since I can remember. My family has been coming to El Tepeyac Cafe since is opened up. If you have not been you should try this wonderful authentic Mexican restaurant.Carpool, parking is not the greatest. If I could give it a 10 stars I would.
