Best Persian food that I've found in LA and OC. Bright, well appointed dining room, attentive and friendly wait staff, reasonable prices, more food than anyone should eat, and it is absolutely delicious! The bread comes hot from the kitchen. The lunch specials are a terrific deal, include a soup or salad, and are too much to eat. The regular menu portions are just right--for about 3 meals!
My wife's favorite is the chicken koobideh--ground chicken mixed with spices, and grilled on a skewer. She tries it at all of the Persian restaurants we go to, and I agree with her that this is the best. My favorite is the shirin polo rice dish with pistachio nuts, orange rind, carrots, and almonds. You can get it as a vegetarian dish, or with chicken or lamb shank. The chicken (looks like half a chicken) is braised in a delicious sauce. Again, it's the best we've had, anywhere.
