Okay, I have had mixed reviews before for this place but that was years ago. On this occasion I ate a combo dinner plate of shredded pork and leg of lamb. It was excellent. This combo plate was around $14. It was a good value. It's not a romantic place by any means. If you want a romantic place to eat Cuban food, go to the Cuban Bistro in Alhambra.
Number 6 in the menu is Versailles' most popular dish in thier menu. It's garlic chicken with rice, beans and plantains...like you've never had it. Though it sounds like a French restaurant, it's actually Cuban. Also, try thier malt beverages, ropas vieja (old clothes) and thier delicious adobo dish. You also might see an actor here and there. Dinner for two should cost under $20. What a deal!
If you goto to Versailles you must have the garlic chicken. You get a 1/2 chicken with a side of rice and beans. This is the dish that I get all of the time. I've tried some of there other dishes that were ok. The cuban sandwhich and the cuban were that special.
Love the busy atmosphere, the fast service and the wonderful aroma of cuban food that makes you hungry as soon as you step out of your car. Two thumbs up and the food is lip smacking good. Try the Garlic Chicken with moro (combination of rice and beans) served with plantain. The sangria is to die for too.
