Soleil, Westwood

This place is horrible, do not waste your time. The food is mediocre and the service is slow. The food taste very bland. Please do not waste your time, there is a great Italian restaurant across the street, Spazzio, eat there!

I've eaten at Soleil at least five times, and had a great experience every time. The food is consistently great, the service is friendly and efficient. I have usually ordered the Steak ala Christine, because I loved it so much the first time, and it never disappoints. However, I've tried bites of dishes my mother, wife, and father have ordered, and all have been great. I strongly recommend this place. It's one of the few restaurants in LA that I think is actually worth the price.

Tried this tonight for the first time. The food was delicious, atmosphere neat, and service OK. It was hard to tell if the owner was just leaving us to talk or being delinquent with our check. Regardless, we'll be back again soon. The pumpkin ravioli, crabcakes, and chicken ravioli were just delicious. Tip: If you can't find street parking, park at Borders. They validate 1 hour without purchase and 4 hours with purchase.

Great place, portions are just right to allow sampling of the amazing deserts. Tiramitsu was so good, and its not a favorite of mine. The choclate crepes were also amazing. Espresso was great. everything was excellent, especially for the price. This is my first resturant review, and I had to after such a great meal. Highly recomended.

I am born and raised in Montreal and used to great food, after moving to L.A and always complaining about the lack of quality food, a fellow Quebecer introduced me to Soleil. The food is great, typical Montreal menu, nice atmosphere and Luc the owner is personable and a joy to be around. If you want to enjoy REAL french food go to Soleil.

I first came to Soleil after meeting the owner figuring I would give it a try. What I found is a lovely little restaurant with consistently good food, reasonable prices and a friendly staff. Luc, the owner, greets most everyone that comes through the door and remembers so many patrons it makes my head spin. He has a true love for his restaurant and you can tell. I now find myself at Soleil Westwood once a week or so - it feels like home. I recommend the poutine on weekends (a Canadian dish of French fries, gravy and cheese curds,) the parmesan fondue, his stroganoff is lovely if you get there when it is on the menu, the crab cakes and pasta have a lovely mustard sauce that blends it together perfectly... and his bourgenion (spelling..sorry) is such a lovely comfort food...I could go on and on... just try whatever looks appetizing, you most likely won't be disappointed. The meals are consistent in quality, which is sometimes hard to find. So far, there is not really anything I have not enjoyed. If you can catch it, go to one of his wine dinners (reservations required) for a wonderful meal paired with 3-4 different wines - usually around $50 per person. Park in the Borders lot free for an hour or stop in and spend $5 for up to 4 hours parking.

Luc, the owner of Soleil is such a genial host. He's always so happy to see you. He's a Frenchman from Montreal I think. His food is excellent! Try all the French classic! He does it very well and at prices that are not even French! Weds night is all you can eat Mussels! With 3 bottles of wine for a group of 4, we were all feeling very good indeed. (we were there for a good 3 hours) Yumm!

Beautiful rustic decor the steak Christine,Pumkin ravioli,Crepes and the duck are just sinful.A must at lunch or Brunch the Quiche and Brian's sandwich wow.By the way service is a plus
