R23 Sushi, Los Angeles

This place is really cool. I was brought her by a girl who recommended it, and I dont like sushi at all, but this place changed my mind!

The best lunch I ever had while sitting on cardboard! LOL I just finished lunch at R-23. The décor was beautiful, nested in the middle of an even more beautiful, high energy, arts district of Downtown Los Angeles. As I entered I could see three chefs at the sushi bar. I was greeted by who appeared to be the owner/manage. No sashimi for me today; I’m keeping it really basic! I started with a nice fresh salad, followed by soup, fresh avocado roll, the finally was the fried shrimp with the sticky white rice! Everything was delicious from start to finish. Next time, I will try the infamous crab salad…because there is sure to be a next time. DownTown Tan

Well, I don't know where you guys get your SUSHI, but this restaurant has one of the freshest sushi I ever ate. I have been to many sushi bars, from Ktown to Westwood, to anywhere.....They have a great selection and it doesn't hurt to go there on the weekends, who knows you may bump into George Clooney.....

I love the dungeness crab salad!! Now they have lunch specials!! Sushi was okay. It's good to try it at least once

Great Crab Salad, Sushi is not as good as Ken's Sushi in Rancho Cucamonga

Crazy location, but: The food is just fantastic. The room is austere, but beautiful - very nice atmosphere (especially after the loading dock entrance). Attentive and pleasant staff R-23 is pricey, but well worth it for some of the best sushi in CA Go.

This is right around the corner from my house and seems to cater mostly to rich business women and men. The sushi is good, but not amazing.

Their fish is fantastic. The presentation is wonderful. Their staff is very friendly and they always have fun artwork. People I have taken are always pleasantly surprised by the cool atmosphere.

R-23 is probably one of the harder restaurants to find, but once you do, it will be well worth the effort. The sushi wizards at the bar are friendly, and experts in their craft. The fish is always super fresh, and of highest quality.

This may be one of the hardest restaurants to find in LA but once you find it you will be back many times. This place has many exotic and authentic and super fresh sushi and sashimi selections not found in many other sushi restaurants in LA. Great ambiance too!
