Seafood, seafood, seafood
If you love seafood, this is the place for you! We've only been here for dim sum so we can't comment on other items from their menu. Their dim sum is excellent! We visit on average once a month. We love to take the kids and walk around Chinatown after brunch. We feel like we've stepped into Hong Kong for the day. Try the crab balls. It's probably the most expensive thing on the menu at $9.75 -- but, you'll be amazed. They bring out 3 huge crab balls the size of baseballs with a claw fried into the side. Yum! It is a large restaurant and the turnover is pretty quick. Sit down and tea is immediately in front of you and the first cart of dim sum is rolling by. If it looks good, try it! Most items are only $2 or $3 bucks. We usually end up paying about $8/person, which is expensive for dim sum... but, keep in mind this is for a complete seafood breakfast. If you want to save money, you can go across town to Empress and eat mostly pork. But, it doesn't really compare if you love shrimp, crab and scallops :) There is free parking next to the restaurant but we usually opt for a $3 lot across the street to avoid the cramped parking situation. There is a take-out counter adjoining the restaurant with whole duck, sides of pig, various Chinese bakery items, and cookies.
Also, Olvera street is just a few blocks away if you really want a multi-cultural Los Angeles experience.
