Shabu Shabu House Restaurant

Description

Shabu Shabu House Restaurant appeals to trendy young people eager to try new dining adventures, as well as older people who have been coming here for years. The room is contemporary and patrons sit at a round bar with high stools. The only requirement for dining at this venue is that you must be very adept at handling chopsticks - you will need to use them to swish your plate of raw veggies, noodles and beef in boiling broth until they're cooked. That's right, you are cooking your own meal, and once it's done, you are ready.

Food is great, I love the beef over there. Make sure you get their early because the lines are long when you arrive around 11:30.

Great work by this super company. Everything was done to my liking and they used state of the art equipment. They arrived in a good amount of time and got the job done right the first time.

I've traveled in Japan, eaten at more Japanese restaurants than you can imagine in Los Angeles.... this is a good value in that it has high quality beef (texture and flavor) with efficient and polite service. Atmosphere is another matter but if you've spent time in Japan, some of the most famous spots (quality & reputation) look like this place. Enjoy!

I suggest going there for lunch. Fewer people, better value.

Wonderful Shabu Shabu
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/1/08
This is my favourite Shabu Shabu house. The only reason that it didn't get a 5 star is because the wait is so long, it's a first come first serve. However, with that being said, it is an authentic shabu shabu and worth the wait!

The wait can be awful
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/19/08
Don't come here when you are really hungry or have a time constraint. They do not take reservations either. Shabu-shabu house opens at 11:30 AM and to be sure to get in on the first seating, you need to be there at 10AM. That said, it is very good and very inexpensive. Parking is in the Japanese Village Plaza, they validate for 2 hours, which can be taken up by the wait. This place is the definition of popular.

Best Shabu in Town
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/15/08
Go here to have shabu, not to those chain restaurants. This is in the Japanese Village Plaza. It's small, so there's a long wait! People flock to this shabu house. I've even waited for almost 2 hours once, but it's all worth it!

totally worth the wait. this place is known for their sauce, not their meat. the meat is of course mediocre, hence the price is the CHEAPEST compare to other shabu shabu house. who doesn't know that? but it's the overall taste that makes this the best shabu shabu house. i've been to three other shabu houses. 1 is just across the street from this one, 1 was in hollywood, by century club, and the other, in gardena where there is a large japanese population. i only go back to this place. i got my husband and friends hooked, too. we are asians with expensive taste, yet we go for this cheap shabu shabu house. we love it here. so cheap and tasty.
