Good Sushi, But Pricey
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/11/06
I like Sushi Gen. The atmosphere is nice, but the food is okay for the price. There are a few other sushi resturants in Little Tokyo that I don't want to name because I'm afraid they're going to get too crowded when I come to LA.
For example, on a sashimi deluxe dinner... they give you a pretty full plate of fish, but 1/3 of it are tartare like chopped up fish mixed with scallions... which really are just leftovers that are packaged to look like something fancy. For 3 people on Feb 10, 2006, it cost $120 for a sashimi deluxe dinner, mixed a la carte sushi that we picked, yellowtail collar, 1 salad, 2 miso soups and a 1 glass of wine, and 1 diet coke. Don't get me wrong. The food is good... but the price isn't.
