My club had a banquet there & the food was AWFUL. Most had a slice of pork in watery gravy, w/a teaspoon of red cabbage & sourkraut that were totally tasteless. On the side was a baseball of rubbery dough & potatoes that had to be cut with a knife. I noticed that almost all of the "baseballs" went in the trash when the plates were finally bused. The service was terrible & I had to get my own cup of coffee for my apple struedel that was still frozen inside.

I like this restaurant/deli/bakery/store a lot. I can recommend the Sauerbraten, Weiner Schnitzel, Jaeger Schnitzel, and Wurst plate as well as the Kartofflepuffer. Ask for rye bread as it is much better than the dinner rolls. The bakery makes marbled rye, marzipan cookies, struddel, and canolis.

My wife and me are both Germans and live since 4 years in NorCal. When ever we visit our friends in Reno, we stop by and have Dinner or do some shopping. It's good to get some real food and German groceries and bakeries ! The only thing we miss in the States - that is good food and we find her !

We went to the restaurant on 16 January 2010 around 5:30pm. The service was good. People were friendly. Music was nice. Food was great! I would go there again. Prices are reasonable. ;) 10 min. walk from Silver Legacy Casino.

This place is frozen in time (in a good way) - great German beer, food, sundries and deli. Prices are reasonable and the service is friendly and jovial - they do not take themselves seriously, only the food that they offer.

As an airline pilot I eat out at a large variety of restaurants all the time. I found Bavarian World to be in the top one per cent of all my dining experiences over the past 20 years. The restaurant is a ten minute walk from the downtown hotels. I have eaten at all these hotels and can say that the food quality and service was better at Bavarian World than any of the hotels. Yhe service at Bavarian World was almost unbelievably fast. I had the Jaeger Snitzel and vegetables and it was as good as any I have had in Germany. I lived in Germany for three years and Bavarian world is as good a dining experience as you will find there. The waitress was friendly and efficient, the apfel strudel was delicious and the Pilsner was outstanding. The value for the money was exceptional.

both myself and my lady friend of five years go there frequently, the service while not exactly professional, is friendly and relaxed. available from their bar is very fine german beer on tap, a very nice compliment to an unusually good dinner, and an excellent quality level of their food.

You must go!
By PhilC, 9/19/08
This was our first trip to Bavarian world and boy was it good. Like other reviewers said, the service leaves a little to be desired, though the staff was good natured. The place is ENORMOUS! the more you look, the more you find. It is a restaurant, deli, grocery store, bakery, and bric-a-brac shop. They have preserved foods from all over europe and germany. The deli foods looked awesome and I will b going back! My wife is ALWAYS weary of my food cravings, but she truly enjoyed this place. Just sit back and relax and enjoy the scenery, for there is much to see. They have it decorated like an outdoor setting under blue skies. I am already looking forward to our return visit. Ny wife had the Victoria schnitzel, and I had the Jaeger schnitzel. Hers was better, but they were both delicious. No smoking, thank gawd!
