Peg's Glorified Ham & Eggs
An all American breakfast sans the greasecould one have asked for more! Omlettes stuffed with hash browns, corn salsa and black beans topped with guacamole and served with bread is the house specialty. The staff extends a warm welcome and serves the food piping hot. The aroma of bacon, sausages and eggs that waft across to the dining area from the open kitchen helps to whet your appetite. To cut a long story short, one can try just about anything on the menu and be sure to be satisfied.
I have been to the Peg's on Sierra which is might I say A-Mazing! BUT the one on South Meadows Pkwy (South Reno) is Disgusting and don't deserve to run a business like Pegs. It gives them a bad name and a bad reputation. I went there 3 weeks ago and 1/4 of our order was missing, went there this morning and they forgot an entire meal, side order and condiments. They tried to compensate us with orange juice and when we returned to the office to eat and as i was eating there was a hair cooked with my eggs. The cooks dont wear hair nets and the cook handling the fries we ordered was grabing them bare handed.
Take my advise and stick with the one on Sierra. You will regret going to the South Meadows location.
We have been going to Peg's for several years whenever we are in Reno -- it is the one place we always recommend to friends who are visiting Reno. Never had anything but rave reviews for the downtown location. There are now three locations.
The food USED to be great and so was the service. There were a couple of people who worked there that we used to avoid but it wasn't awful enough for us to avoid the place completely. Man, have things changed at Peg's!
The food is now bland and unimpressive and the service is atrocious. We couldn't believe that they treated us the way that they did (and didn't care about it either) so we walked out (before eating) six months ago and haven't returned.
Oh and only a couple of the wait staff seemed to wash up before they handled your food and they appeared to have quit just before we swore the place off forever. It is true.
There are too many great breakfast places in this town (like Heidi's for example) to be bothered with those fools. Good riddens.
I've only been been to the Sierra St, Peg's,I've driven 20+ miles to it once a week for 6 mos.
The food is simply beyond compare. How many places do you know that the bacon is perfect every time? They have a ranchera sauce to die for..
If you're in the Reno area you owe it to yourself to try Peg's
Oh,and sorry, after 30 or more visits I don't have any horror stories about the wait staff! Dave
I too had bad service at the downtown location, the waitress prepared my toast without washing her hands. I told her that I saw her doing that, I was in disbelief that she acted like she couldn't care less. I was disgusted. I called the health department on them.
This place would be the best place to eat if it weren't for the incompetent waitress. Sorry but I deserve better.
However, the other location in the Northwest part of town is great!
The food is ok. The service is good. My question is this: the place is operated by (I refuse to use the word: managed) the owner's daughters, Angie and Jodie. They are both rude, competely disrespectful and more importantly, abusive to the staff and employees. Why would anybody work there?
I will not return to any buisness that abuses its employees. Neither should you.
Just moved to Reno. Not enough stars in the ratings. The best French Toast I have ever had. We visited the Peg's on the NW side of town. The wait was totally worth it. Wonderful service, I did not have to ask for refills. We will take all of our out of town guest there each time. Keep up the great work.
