Mi Casa Too
You will find authentic Mexican food served in a true Mexican atmosphere complete with pinatas and mariachis. The portions are large and the quality is unsurpassed. For the hungry amigo, the combination platters served with rice and beans would be the way to go. The Carne Asada Taco Combo comes complete with two soft flour tortillas, strips of marinated sirloin steak with Pico De Gallo sauce and guacamole. For dessert, the creamy flan or rich fried ice cream makes it worthwhile to save a little room.
I can't understand why people like this place. Moved here in 1983, it was THE place to have Mexican food. Have eaten there several times, never again. Service is absolutely TERRIBLE, the servers act like they are doing you a favor by even coming to the table. Rude, rude, rude, and the food is bland, nasty stuff. Do yourself a favor and try one of the family owned, authentic places in Reno.
This place was BAD! They had bland, bland boring food with 5 pounds of cheese poured on top of it. I love cheese, but not this way. Margaritas were obviously made from a store bought mix. Their fried ice cream = scoop of vanilla with crushed corn flakes smooshed all over it. I'm angered that we wasted our money on that meal!
Can hardly wait to get back up to Reno. I have been craving the chicken and rice dinner. Simply delicious. What we did since 10 in our group, everyone would sample the plate of person to their left. Service was Great!! Ample parking. Pricing was very resonable. Can't wait to get back to Reno. Mi Casa Too is now our night before we leave place to eat and relax.
We had dinner at Mi Casa Too this past Tuesday. What a treat! The service was excellent, the food was excellent, the restaurant was clean and full of Mexican charm - clear down to the Patron flower vases - loved it! This is my new favorite Mexican restaurant. After telling my friends what a great meal we had - seems that this is Reno's best kept secret! Its been here forever! They even had a great bar to meet friends for a drink after a long day of work. You'll be seeing me again soon.
I've been going to Mi Casa on 4th Street for years, but the past few months, the quality of the food has declined considerably. In this economy, it's understandable that the portion sizes are smaller and the prices are higher, but the last four times we have eaten there, we've both been ill. We both had the shredded beef chimichanga.
Unless something changes drastically, I'm sad to say that we will not be going to Mi Casa again.
