Writing a bit of a different review than I wrote in September, 2011: I ve been here several times and the food, I think, is below average for BBQ. The deep fried dill pickles are EXCELLENT, however, other things they offer are not so great. For one, Southerners are known for iced tea (sweet tea), but they don t offer any decaffeinated options. Today, I got the Apple City Salad. The menu says it s made with mixed greens. I think of mixed greens as arugula, endive, spinach, dandelion leaves, radicchio, etc. This salad came with ICEBERG lettuce with the little pieces of carrots and cabbage. It was awful. I wanted to complain about the salad, but the server was no where to be found for a while. I have to say, though, that when I told her about the salad, she offered me something else. I think they should have comped my meal, but they didn t charge me for the salad. I ordered the burnt ends as a replacement. They tasted great, but they were loaded with pieces of fat.
