Gallagher's dark wood decor and bustling atmosphere, reminiscent of the great East coast chop houses, will have you longing for traditional steak and seafood favorites. This classic New York Style Restaurant is famous for its New York Dry-Aged Steak, prepared on an open, mesquite grill.
I wanted to try the aged new york steak because I had heard it was very good. The steak turned out to be good, but not exceptional. The restaurant was too crowded, the noise level outrageous, and the service very slow. I will not go back. I can broil a better steak at home without aging it for a month or so.
I visited this Gallaghers Steakhouse the first time about 6 months ago.
We were a group of 4. The drinks were good and the waiter was super friendly but my meal was so-so, my steak was cold and over done. I had to wait approx another 20 minutes for a new one. My husbands order was completely wrong but didn't have it taken back because he didn't want to wait. My other 2 friends were content with their meals. I rate it average. The food was overall good but the experience was not that great. The restaurant was very busy and the wait was approx 30 minutes so I understand why the experience wasn't that great. Willing to give it another try. All restaurants have their bad days.
Me and a colleague dined here recently...it was late and we were famished, we were seated immediately and ordered. I had the baby spinach salad with silvers of bacon and the bacon vinaigrette (the best I've ever had), he had the shrimp cocktail (the shrimps were massive, he raved about it) we both ordered the aged bone in sirloins...the steaks were sublime, thick and juicy. The service was snappy and not intrusive...a bit pricey but worth it.
Excellent food. Seating is a bit of an issue if you have a large party.
However my wife and I visited, and the entire experience was exceptional. The aged NY steak was superlative. I'm not joking, it's the best steak I've ever had. The baked potato was incredible. Enough for two and so soft and fluffy inside, I asked how they did it. The service was knowledgeable, unobtrusive and intimate. The sides and appetizers were simple, but sophisticated
My wife still says it's the best prime rib she has ever had.
Not fancy, but a exceptional steakhouse.
Its been a while since ive been there but the experience i had was phenomenal. The atmosphere was incredible and the food was absolutely delicious. I happen to work in a retail store at Forum Shops and I always recommend Gallagher's for excellent steak and service. They have their meat hanging in a window for all to see, what more could you ask for in a steakhouse. It was actually the first time i had my filet mignon butterflied and (as usual) i had a side of asparagus that was wonderful...can i say any more great things about this place??
