Quark's bar is fantastic. If you like alcohol, food and Star Trek, it is one of the happiest places on Earth. I am by no means a Trekker, or even a Trekkie, but I do love the shows, and Quark's is just amazing!
I've been there twice. The first time I only had the onion rings, but last week I ordered the Hamborger and my friend had a French dip. We shared, and it was all great. We also shared the mini version of the bubbling rum punch huge bowl drinks with the dry ice! The menu is so entertaining...
I agree with the person from NJ--if there was one where I live, I would be there Right Now! The prices are reasonable, but I would be willing to pay more--to get to be there, and get to talk to Shran, Quark, the Klingons...they are all authentic and provide a truly entertaining and thrilling experience (while you're drinking and eating yummy food)!
I brought some Klingon blood wine home (CA Merlot) but am saving it for a special occasion.
Fun fun fun!
My husband and I ate there after going on the Star Trek Experience. The food was good, from what I remember. It wasn't the food that got us to love the place.
The thing that really stands out is the bar. We could have sat there for hours. The atmosphere is great and we loved the characters they had walking around. The bartenders were great! We would love to go back and just hang out.
I would recommend this bar to anyone going to Vegas.
We are not trekkies, and we are Senior citizens. We didn't know what to expect, but we had a great time! Food was excellent, if a bit pricey. The quality of the ingredients made a $12 hamburger the BEST of $12 hamburgers. We were there for dinner, and there was a full dinner menu along with the sandwiches we had. We're looking forward to returning another day.
There was a costumed character wandering around that was very friendly, and amenable to many of the patrons that wanted their picture taken with him/her/it!! The ambiance of being in a space ship in outer space was very cool! I wish I'd watched Star Trek now.
There seems to be two schools of thought regarding Quark's - either you love it or you hate it. I am at a loss to fathom why anyone would hate it....indifferent maybe.
As a hard-core Trekker, I love it. I have attended the large Las Vegas Star Trek Convention held at the Hilton for the last 5 years and eating at Quark's is one of the high points for me and my friends.
The food is quite good - no more pricey than other restaurants in the hotel or in the city for that matter (I spent more moohlah for dinner at Nine Fine Irishmen at NYNY!). Cheap eats in Vegas are a thing of the past my friends! The portions are generous. The ambience is one of a kind, with Star Trek based characters roaming the area interacting with guests.
I would encourage everyone to go once and make up your own mind.
I like coming here because I am a Fan of the shows and like to support Star Trek as much as possible and not loose my shirt over high prices. I usully get the Clam Chouder which at 6.95 is really good and one of the best I have had. Compaired to Legal Seafood, this is very good. Onion rings are good and most of the appertizers are good. The drinks are a nother matter. OVER PRICED with litter punck. I had the James Tea Kirk which was WEAK at best and too sweet. I like a litte alcohol with my syrup please.
I enjoy the characters interacting with the people as the are eating. The Borg is great, Klingons are Aways Great.
This place is a must visit for the Star Trek fan. It's a whole lot of fun, even if you're not. The food is top notch, and the drinks are not for the faint of heart. My only criticism would be that, if you're on a tight budget, don't eat here. Be prepared to interact with a few aliens, it is Quark's Bar after all.
The food is well above average with good burgers, Mexican appetizers, and great drinks. The drinks are named after Star Trek characters and are as different and varried as Klingons and Ferengi. That atmospher is fun and the prices are affordable.
