Mon Ami Gabi
This restaurant is well known for a variety of fresh seafood and outstanding steaks cooked to perfection. The frites are absolutely addictive. Choose to sit inside or relax outside on a beautiful day; the decor makes you feel you are in a Parisian bistro. There are excellent choices on the menu - Cold Appetizers, Hot Appetizers, Gabi's Classics etc as well as the wine list. Don't miss the amazing desserts like the Creme Brulee and the Bananas Foster Crepe. Food is reasonably priced with generous servings.
Visited here several time over the last few years always expecting a great lunch or dinner to re-energize after a long day of exploring the strip. A huge draw has been the gluten-free offerings as my boyfriend has Celiac s Disease and we have very limited options when we are on vacation. We love coming to Las Vegas and Mon Ami Gabi has become a dependable stop, however, we ve found only the Gluten-free bread and Sea Scallops entree ever actually get eaten. In gluten-free world I suppose that is a jackpot since most food establishments can hardly identify common wheat products as containing wheat or gluten. Long story short each time we come we order two entrees and an appetizer to share on the gluten free menu and have left disappointed every time. First time our entree was over cooked, second time it was near raw, then recently we got a Seared Ahi Tuna Special ... that put us over the edge. Yes we complained and they were apologetic and compensating each time, but the excuse for the chef in training only works so many times and I do not want to go back again.
We like it because of the atmosphere. It has a nice authentic French feeling. Though the food is not exactly the greatest, it is OK. It is nice to sit outside at night and watch the fountains of Bellagio across the street while enjoying the meal.
The steak frites...the bread & butter, the french onion soup, the shrimp cocktail, people watching (Jerry Springer was dining 3 tables down from us),dining outdoor on the terrace, the ambiance...one wishes they were in Paris ! Plus they had great music (Christmas blues and jazz music pumping)...the sun was beaming and they had the outdoor heaters going also. Unless it's too cold, wait for a table on the terrace, it's worth it.
My favorite restaurant in Vegas. Food is always cooked perfectly and the service is top notch. Prices are reasonable but excellent value at lunch if you like crepes or quiche. The appetizers are awesome, I highly recommend the Artichoke. the ambiance varys depending on where you sit in the restaurant (3 very defined sections - Outside, Inside and Glass covers areas), which can be good depending on your mood or the outside temperature. Wine selection is also excellent. 5/5
We had a reservation for 8, and we got right in. Wait staff very attentive, and took our drink order right amay. Drinks priced right @ $8, we had just left THE Hotel @ mandalay Bay, and payed $13 a drink. OH MY!!!! This turned out to be one of the best meals I have ever had! My cousin and I shared the tomato chesse apptizer.(I can't remember what it was called) MMMmmm.....Totally tasty. I ordered the lemon chicken, and it just melted in my mouth. The best chicken I have ever had. I'm not a big red meat eater, but I tasted my aunt's filet minot, and it was tender, and very tasty. I will definatly eat here again, hopefully on the terrace this time, so I can see the fountains. If you are anywhere near the Paris, give it a try!
We had dinner at Mon Ami Gabi on a Wednesday night. We requested the terrace so the wait time was approximately one hour, but well worth it for the view and the appetizer. The view is amazing: the fountains, people watching etc... We went in with high expectations for the food because of the many 5 star reviews. But it wasn't necessarily what I had hoped. Now I do have to admit that one of the appetizers: the tomato sauce and cheese with garlic bread was extraordinary!!! Very delicious! I ordered the Filet Mignon w/merlot butter and my fiancé had ordered the Filet Mignon Au Poivre. Mine was a big too thick and I had asked for it to be well done but it wasn't. My fiancé liked the Au Poivre though. Anyway all in all it had one amazingly delicious dish (tomato sauce/cheese and garlic bread) and one so so dish! But the atmosphere was great!!!
