I am from new york , so i check the review for chooseing the restaurant , but i think that is totally wrong . first this is korean open japenes reataurant , i like korean , but i want go the place is open by japenes, sorry about that, and when the dishes come , it cames all of roll first , and tell us we catn left rice on the dish, or will charge 5 dollar for each one person , but if u serves the sushi first , it wont happen that way~ and side dishes is not so good , but i think price is good for the one love roll at all~ and u will feel worth , or u feel so bad , coz u ate a lot of rice!!!
First of all based on the reviews here good overall so I went last night and had the all you can eat for $22.99 which is cheap for dinner.
I just want to say i personally label myself as a all you can eat sushi guru. my friends and i work for the airlines so its a 1 hour free flight to las vegas and las vegas seem to have the most all you can eat sushi bars.
I was by myself and which is customary for me before i bring the whole gang.
I sat at the bar.
Service: the waitresses were friendly and attentive. Now the sushi chef was okay i dont blame him but you dont know who's gonna be the big tipper. there was an actractive young lady at the bar before i got there he was very attentive to her but a little slow and no reccommendations which he offered her.
i got two menus one with specialty rolls- basically all spicy tuna concocktion , california roll stuff and fried shrimp stuff. thats all i saw nothing special.
now the other menu had traditional nihiri and regular rolls you would finds just about anywhere with a list of appetizers.
1. i started out with a spicy tuna roll with eel on top, the roll size was perfect. the spicy tuna was a little fishy and the eel was not very buttery and little fishy also. after that i thought i'd try the nigiri sushi and see if anything stands out.
1. halibut was decent but the texture on the rice of the nigiri sushi was a little bit hard.
2. giant clam decent
3. sweet shrimp i could tell it was just thawed
4. two orders of garlic tuna decent cause of the sauce
5. two orders of salmon fresh, they were advertising this on a sign as i walked in on a little side walk sign.
6. ika --not fresh
7. taco very dry
8. seaweed salad decent
9. miso soup salty for my taste and came out lukewarm
10 finished with green tea ice cream, cant go wrong with ice cream i think this was the best part of the meal.
it was cheap and worth a try, it had few strikes when i walked it. First im korean nothing against my peeps but most sushi bars owned by koreans in my experience are skimpy on the fish and the texture of the rice for some reason is never any good. this place is korean owned. Second when i walked in i was the only asian customer beside the workers. Could it racist or whatever but, too me it's like going to a chinese restaurant where all the patrons are non asian.
Too bad sushi house manda closed cause of the smoking law it was in a bar, that plac was good. Also Koto was very good but they went out of business i dont know why it was a great restaurant which should have charged more.
I will keep searching las vegas for the best all you can eat sushi bar. Let everybody know. byt the way i had gone to Oshyi las week that way better that yama.
I was a little skeptical, but went based on positive reviews from Yahoo! The atmosphere is good, the food is great, and a recommended treasure is the mochi ice cream. I don't think there's anything more delicious than that! ;) You won't be disappointed. I recommend doing the all you can eat buffet with 2 or 3+ friends and then try a variety. Everything was good. I plan to go here any time I'm in Vegas.
I usually go there at least 1-2 times a month! It's amazing with friendly staff, amazing sushi chef's that will willingly take a shot of sake if offered them! All of the items on the menu ARE AMAZING!!! yummmmy! Yummmy!!! :] I will continue to go there always ( We just had a private party there a few weeks ago, for my cousin's B-day bash- in the private room-it was awesome!!!)
This is my very favorite place to eat. The quality is absolutely unbeatable!!!! I actually bring tons of visitors from out of town to this restaurant as well as take my staff to lunch for their birthdays! FABULOUS!!!
I go to UNLV, the local university in Las Vegas and Yama Sushi is just around the corner so my sister and I decided to try it. We've been to many different sushi restaurants around town and Yama blows them all away! The food and prices are great, and the service is astounding. I highly recommend Yama Sushi to anyone who wants good food and great service!
A friendly Vegas place with good food. I've eaten here many times, and we've always been greeted by the hospitable staff. The atmosphere is comfortable and has plenty of seating. My favorite roll is the ''Sun of the Beach''. My only issue is that I wish the menu had more variety, but nevertheless the food is still yum.
The first time we went, I was scared, having never had sushi . . . we go back now as often as we can, as the food is wonderfully fresh and healthy, and the staff is extremely generous, the chefs are playful and remember us and our friends from previous visits, and even know my baby's name! If any one in our family is feeling under the weather, or needs a place to celebrate, this is were we send them!
This place has an all you can eat sushi special for a little over $20.00, and when they say all you can eat they really mean it. The staff is friendly and the sushi is really good, especially for the price. They also have a small semi-private room for special occassions.
