My husband and I ate at the Todai buffet on the Las Vegas Strip 9/1/2010. The food was not even worth the ridiculous $30 per person. I tried to eat a piece of steak, but I gave up after chewing on it for almost five minutes. I've also had better California Rolls at my local Genuardi's. I was looking forward to eating here, but was badly let down. I will never, ever eat at this restuarant again. We should have just gone to McDonald's.

The food is really great there, but they charge to much for it. The service was horrible. The waiters are really stuck up.

I thought they had a huge selection of both sushi and non-sushi items. The price is steep though. If you are a local, you can find places that charge less for sure. I thought the food tasted really good while I was there for dinner. One suggestion is to get there at 530pm when they open for dinner. I do not think that I would feel comfortable going here at 8pm.

I love sushi but not when it's pre-prepared like Todai does. A positive for Todai is the selection of other stuff they offer. There's plenty of good non-warming, not prepared this morning non-sushi items to indulge in. But if you're not there for the sushi, it's not a good value for the price. Also, in my opinion foods like sushi, clams, mussels and oysters are delicacies, and really aren't for the American-ish all you can eat menus- a case of too much of a good thing not being a good thing at all.

The food is good but not worth the price. Went a few times but won't pay that much for dinner again. I'll just go for my free birthday meal.

Are you kidding me? if I could give this zero stars or negative stars...I would! The idea of sushi sitting out is mind bogglingly horrid. We stopped here because friends wanted a buffet. Flies were buzzing around the sushi! EWWWWW... We paid and left. We couldn't stay and eat at all.

When my friend and I went to Todai for the first time, it's is the most excellent sushi and seafood buffet that we've been too. We've been to different sushi bars and restaurant, but this one is the best one. Every sushi roll and sashimi you can think of is there. (except for blowfish) :) They also have an excellent dessert bar and the prices are reasonable for all you can eat.

Overrated tourist trap!
By Mike, 6/26/07
The food is ok at best. Too many tourists. Limited portions of certain foods such as lobster. Sushi and buffet are two words that do not belong in the same conversation. Sushi is best served fresh! Leave this place to ignorant tourists and give your business to the many off strip sushi bars in the valley.

Oh, no. I can't believe Todai is listed as #1.
By SummerlinSue, 6/26/07
I suppose it's okay for tourists on the Strip who have no way to get around. However, I'm sure that Locals agree that the BEST sushi buffet in town is Makino's. Someone else mentioned the Decatur/Flamingo location, but there is also a Makino's at the outlet mall not far from Charleston and the 15, and the newest one on Fort Apache and Charleston near Summerlin.
