My husband and I visited Pamplemousse for the second time in ten years on December 26th this year. What a change from 10 years ago! We were seated initially against the wall and it was so cold and draughty that we had to be moved. Our waiter, Keife was obviously ill and probably should have been home in bed. The food was such a disappointment that I nearly cried. The French Onion soup was the best part of the entire $250 dinner for two! It was all downhill from there. My goat cheese salad was awful. The warm goat cheese in pastry was cold and dry. The pastry was thin and certainly not “puffy” but chewy. We had to request our bread near the end of the appetizer course or we would not have received it. When the main course arrived I thought that maybe Pampelmousse would be redeemed. NO WAY. I ordered the Beef Wellington and again the pastry was flat and dry, and the beef tasted like cold cork. The sauce tasted like it came out of a jar! My husbands Sinatra pasta was more edible but not up to the standard one would expect from the prices charged. We ordered the Lava cake for dessert and again were disappointed. I have tasted better Lava cake at chain restaurants. The cake was dry and lacked the sponginess one would expect. There was very little of the “lava” fudge, and the cream on top was unremarkable. The waiter’s assistant cleared his throat like a truck driver on several occasions in the dining room which was certainly unappetizing. We had one night for dinner in Vegas and chose this restaurant; I have never been so disappointed by this caliber of restaurant, ever! Do NOT waste your money as this once lovely restaurant has lost it's credibility.

My husband and I went there together with another couple. It was wonderful. THe service was the best we had ever seen (and I test out places all the time for my job) and it was very romantic - so this would be a great place for an anniversary or special night with your special someone. I highly recomend the Filet!! My husband LOVED his chicken! There Soufle (sp?) is a must!

We had dinner for our anniversary at Pamplemousse recently (We’ve been going there on special occasions for many years) and were told that George (the original owner) has taken in a partner. The partner has instituted several changes that rendered our dinner a big disappointment. The crudite (vegetable basket) used to be served in a big basket, along with delicious hard boiled eggs. Now it is served in a tiny bucket type thing. I ordered a glass of Pinot Grigio and strongly suspect that it had been watered down judging by the effect that it didn’t have ;-). The menu used to be recited by the waiters; now it is printed just like in other restaurants. This used to be one of the things that set Pamplemousse apart. I could go on but, all in all, I’m truly sorry to say that dinner was a major disappointment.

My husband and I enjoyed another traditional gourmet meal at Pamplemousse Le Restaurant in Las Vegas. Dinner starts with crudités, a wonderful selection of fresh vegetables (a nice alternative to a salad), along with olives and bread. The pistachio crust & rosemary gave my Rack of Lamb just the right touch; I like that it is available for one. My husband started with the classic French Onion Soup Gratinée, and for his entrée chose a special - the osso bucco - pronouncing it better than any he has had from an Italian chef. In lieu of an appetizer, I saved room for a Grand Marnier Soufflé. Even with a very nice bottle of wine, the dinner was a good value. In the past we have also enjoyed Roasted Duckling, Veal Medallions, Shrimp, Filet Mignon - all served with a variety of delicious sauces. The restaurant sits by itself on the north side of Saraha Avenue, just east of the Strip, so you'll need a rental car or taxi to get there. The French country inn ambiance is complemented by the attentitive, personal service. A trip to Las Vegas is not complete for us without a dinner in this intimate retreat. While it is a romatic setting, it is also appropriate for business. I was introduced to it 20-some years ago by a colleague; he suggested we get away from the Strip and dine at Pamplemousse. Not only have I been coming back regularly, but I have brought clients, friends and fellow conference attendees.

Amazing food and atmosphere
My wedding was an intimate elegant affair and Pamplemousse was the perfect setting for our reception. The entire restuarant is romantic and quaint, elegant without being stuffy. The food is suberb and the service is amazing.

Unlike any resturant we have ever been to.

The atmosphere is romantic, yet so comfortable it is almost casual. The food is top notch. The only way to describe the style is gourmet comfort food. Good service, prices are high as you would expect for the all around quality.

This restaurant is one of the true gems of Las Vegas. It flies under the radar as the Chef is not a celebrity, it's not in a high visibility casino, and you're not likely to see Britney or J-Lo there. The food and the service, however (if those matter to you), are both fabulous. The staff are warm and welcoming; they maintain an air of casual elegance that helps you enjoy a relaxed, comfortable meal. The food is excellent, beginning with the beautiful crudite basket that starts every meal. Shrimp diablo is a dynamite appetizer. To try and point out each of the successes on the menu would be almost pointless. I've been there many times and have never had a meal that wasn't superb. The duck in peppercorn sauce is so good, though, it deserves a special mention. The restaurant itself sits in an old house just off the Strip at Sahara. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but the inside is warm, inviting, and above all comfortable. If you're visiting Vegas don't miss this place.
