scale 1-5 (5 excellent)
comment: very much an exact dupe of little Italy in Chi-town. Coolest bar area ever, think 1930's cool. Very family and fun look and feel.
comment; My Father-in-law is Italian, and he agrees this is very authentic. Best Italian i ever had and all the food was fresh and cooked perfectly. The Lasagna is to die for!
comment: Beyond par, fast, efficient and friendly- Kudos to Alisa for making our Mother's Day celebration special.
This is our second visit of what will have us undoubtedly become 'regulars'.
DO go, Do see, Do eat.
For those with the negative feedback below, sorry, but have to ask: what color is the sky on your planet? No, seriously.
My wife, myself and my daughter and son-in-law had the pleasure of eating at this restaurant. We had no problem getting reservations and were seated as soon as we got there. The staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. We ordered lasagna and veal parmagiana and we more than fed the entire family. No leftovers because the food was so good, we just ate and ate till it was all gone. Reasonable prices, great food and lots of ambience. We are going back for Mother's day and to celebrate two birthdays in May.
I took some friends there for dinner and I was embarrassed. The salad was good but everything else was terrible. The veal Marsala was dry and chewy and the lasagna was also dry and tasteless. Not to mention being pan handled twice walking from the parking lot. I went looking for the same great Italian food that I've had in the bay area and was very disappointed. I certainly would not go back there.
when we ate here, I thought it was like a family owned business. Food was great, and huge servings. Then I went to Hawaii and discovered it was a chain restaurant.
Hawaii was fun cause we got to sit at the special kitchen table where you can watch the food being prepared.
Loved everything we ate in Vegas except the Chopped Salad...that was a big disappointment (don't order it)!
As much as I loved Stratta the last time, I had to budget a bit this time and get food that is actually worth my money. I found this Buca on the GPS to be very close to the Hard Rock. Infact it was just down the street from the Hard Rock on Flamingo. I came here on a Sunday evening, and there was next to no one here at 6pm. It took a total of 2 minutes to get seated.
The menu is exactly like any other Buca's around in Socal. I ordered the Quatro Al Forno which comes with 4 different kinds of pasta and a meatball on the side. The total after tip had to be less the $20. This wouldn't buy me a single plate of food at the Wynn. The management there was very friendly. I remember them asking me how the place compared to the ones in Socal. I lied and told them its superb, when really it was on the same level. Its a franchise, what else can you expect but some good proportioned Italian cooking at the Buca?
I did the Buca to go thing and it was great. I called in my order a half hour earlier and when I arrived at the pickup window, I paid and was off on my way. I ordered the Mio Fettuccine Supremo and it was pretty good. I've eaten here before, but thought that I'd finally post a review. The portion sizes are great because if you eat at the restaurant, you will be able to take a ton home for a second meal.
I planned my wedding reception dinner at this restaurant over the phone and email. I was somewhat apprehensive however it's hard to know what to expect when you've never been there! However the Buca Di Beppo here in The Woodlands,TX is fun and good so gave it my best shot and scheduled. When we first showed up they weren't ready so we had around 35 people hanging around in a very small lobby but then once we were seated everything fell into place. The food was great, the atmosphere feastive and the wait staff worked hard to please everyone. I'd do it all over again!
