We have been going to the river for over 30 years and so we knew the Colorado Belle was an older casino. It has been about three years since we last visited the Belle. We've stayed in all of the casinos in Laughin with a variety of different room rates so we have a good idea of what to expect with each of them. Because of the cheap rate we selected, we also expected the room we paid for would likely be in the remote Bourbon Towers. However, we did not realize that we would be given a room that appeared as if it had not been cleaned in the last three years. It was disgusting with dirt and mold throughout the room. Food and who knows what else was splattered on the base of the bed, which we did not see until the morning or I would have requested a new room. We had to wear socks after showing, mold was in the bathroom, also the TV was about 15 inches wide. We could not get out of there fast enough the next day, which is a shame because we would have stayed a little longer and done some gambling. If the casinos goal is to make money off of gamblers, they need to update the rooms or at least give them a good cleaning so the patrons are enticed to stay there. On our return trip we stayed at the Golden Nugget in Laughlin. They have recently redone their rooms and everything was very clean and comfortable. For $10 more a night staying at the Nugget is well worth it.
Overall, I'd say that our stay at the Belle was wonderful. The buffet comps beer and wine with dinner. Don't try to eat after 9:00 p.m. unless you like Subway. The poker room is the best in Laughlin. The slots are generous.
HOWEVER...Our room was dirty. We've stayed here a few times and the rate is so cheap...$19 a night and the location is so perfect that you really can't complain. Even as wonderful as the location is, we just have to stay somewhere else in the future. The floors are so filthy you don't want to take your shoes off, especially in the bathroom. We stayed for three nights and by the second night I was sick. I don't think the filter has been changed in the AC since the 1960's. The carpet is disgusting. I'd play at the Belle and stay elsewhere.
The rooms were not clean and we had to beg for a hair dryer and iron - in spite of paying for upgraded accomodations. They bring the hair dryer and iron to your room upon request and pick them up afterward! The restaurants were up to par but next time we will stay elsewhere.
Perfect location, right smack in the middle of all the action during the River Run. From the busy streets, to the crowded parking lots, motorcyles everywhere and the lovely river behind hotel. For the price we paid and the great time we had - it's worth it.
We stayed at the colorado bell and was very dissappointed ,,after paying over 100 a night , the bathroom was not clean, and when we were gambling downstairs, the two of the dealers made it a bad experience,, a lady named sofia yelled at my husband constantly on do this don't do that, instead of saying it politely not to do something, she even slapped his hand a couple of times like you would with a little kid, the next dealer just hit you without even asking if you wanted hit at the black jack table, I gave up on gambling that night because of those two dealers. if I'm going to bust and lose my money I perfer to do it not the dealer do it.. my money is going to be spent at pioneer or edgewater from now on.. hope when the new owners take over they straighten some things out..
We had the opportunity to dine at the MARK TWAIN RESTAURANT on the Colorado Belle and we were extremely delighted. Our waiter-JOHN was the most gracious and efficient waiter that the restaurant could ask for...The food was exceptionally great. Steaks were cooked to perfection. Overall, the restaurant is definitely a place we will return to when we go back to Laughlin.
I can remember the very first time I walked into the Colorado Belle. I was only a child and I can remember it like it was yesterday. I was in awe. Today, it is still my favorite hotel to stay at when I visit Laughlin, my favoritest place in the world. When I walk down the hallways of the Colorado Belle, memories come flooding back of when I was a little chubby girl in my colorful swimsuit going to the pool. I always had fun at the pool. I can remember my dad never liked going in the water, but that was okay because my mom did. The only time my dad liked going out on the water, was when he had a toy to play with, and I am talking about seadoos, jet skis and every other water toy. The Colorado River is so conveniently close to the hotel. Every day my family and I would travel on over to Davis Dam and we would be out there for hours and barbecue. It was one of the greatest experiences ever. I also remember looking out the windows of one very high building: amazing views and beautiful scenery surround the hotel. AND, I've gotten so caught up in all the excitement, that I have forgotten to mention one of the greatest things about this place...THE ICE CREAM SHOP. It has some of the greatest ice cream you'll ever taste! When we don't stay at the Colorado Belle, as a tradition, my father and I walk down from whatever hotel we are staying at (probably the Flamingo Hilton because it is my sister's favorite hotel) and we walk along the riverwalk, which has the most beautiful views ever, and go to the ice cream shop. I hope this makes up your mind. I can't wait to go back! If only summer would come sooner!
