I love the golden nugget, I have stay at almost every 5 star hotel on the strip and the golden nugget is just as nice as they are if not nicer. You get so much for your money and I love the suites. We have been staying at the Golden Nugget now for over 7 years. It was a beautiful hotel when Steve Wen owned it, but it's even more beautiful since the Laundry's bought it out. Stay their you won't be sorry. Their isn't a hotel in the US or outside the US that is going to give you a room and the accommodations for that price. It's a beautiful four star hotel.
our stay in golden nugget may3-7.was nothing like it should have been for a 5 star hotel.room was reserved, paid for 3 months in advance.had to wait till 9;00 pm to get a clean room.took 6 hours for towels.called maintence ,after waiting 45 minutes called again said they did not get first call.finally made it 20 minutes later to fix problem.this is one of those motels that take your money and forget about you and your service.have been to las vegas 8 years.have always stayed on freemont street.always stayed at one of the two on the other side.from know on that is where you will find me.WARNING GOLDEN NUGGET IS NOT HAS GOOD HAS YOU THINK!!!!
Treated with disrespect from the Players Club at this Hotel. The only hotel out of many in Las Vegas where me and my signifcant other we're treated like roomates because we've chosen not to get married even though we've been together for almost 10 years. The players club rep refused to link our accounts together. This was actually the 2nd time this has happened to us at the Golden Nugget. We were told this is not the policy of the hotel and received many apologies by the Director of the Players Club, however this has happened twice not sure if we believe her. Many couples choose not to get married and many couples can't, too bad this is something this hotel seems not to understand or they need to really train their employees if an anti-discrimination policy does exist. Until then we won't return.
My son, his wife, our 2 daughters, my husband and I just spent 6 days at the Gold Nugget RushTower.
The beds were wonderful. The maids were great and it was a very pleasant visit.
The food was very good in the restaurants.
The pool is a beautiful place to spend an afternoon.
We have one complaint. The box the mattress sat on had very sharp corners. We all came home with bruises on our legs. I notified the girl at the desk and she said they had received many complaints but when they refered the complaints they received they were not acted on. I told her I would write. When I got on the elevator and was telling my daughters her answer, several others on the elevator said they had brusies too. As I feel this is a problem I am putting the complaint in writing. I arrived home Friday night and the brusies are still prominent. This is a problem that needs attention. All they would have to do is round off the ends where the side board meets the bottom board.
Other than this problem I would reccommend the Gold Nugget as a place to have a wonderful vacation.
We spent 5 nights at the Golden Nugget in a nonsmoking room on the 3rd floor attending a convention. From Wed through Sat our room was not cleaned. On Sat aft. we called the housekeeping supervisor and told her about this. We then had the room cleaned for the first time. Housekeeping had been notified each day also! The bed I was using needs to be discarded. It was worn out on the side the lamp was on. Two people would have been very uncomfortable.
No comment cards were available at the time of checkout!
Rating would be a one star or two, mainly because of not being cleaned and smoking in the hallway and the elevators. I know smoking cannot be avoided entirely in Vegas but going to and from rooms could be.
Just stayed last week in the beautiful Spa Suite on the 7th floor which looked directly down to the pool area. The only bad part of the trip was it was not long enough...we needed one more day!! The Casino is very nice and ALL of the employees were very nice and helpful. We will be back and will request our same room. Take a stroll down Fremont and enjoy the beautiful music/light show and make sure you stop at Mermaids..grab some beads, enjoy the stiff drinks and play the nickel slots..you will not be disappointed.
