El Sombrero Has Theee Best Authentic Mexican Food
My sister found this little cafe when she moved here in 1977. Well, when I moved out here in 1982, she brought me to El Sombrero to eat. She told me then that the Mexican food that comes out of the kitchen there is the closest to what we ate back in Colorado. Let me tell everyone...IT IS!!!!!!!! Whenever I eat there, I ALWAYS eat their cheese enchiladas. I have eaten at 100's of Mexican Food restaurants throughtout the United States and El Sombrero's red enchilada sauce is soooooooo delicious. The cook has a special recipe handed down from family. The smothered bean burritos (with green chilie) and ground beef tacos are ultimately delicious. Those are my favorite foods but I have tried the guacamole tostados, guacamole dip, nachos, sopa fideo soup, rice, and their hot sauce and chips are super!!! The restaurant is located in the downtown area where even the celebrities will travel a long distance for the most superb Mexican food. Many dignitaries and televison anchormen have been seen dining there. Also, the owners are wonderful people who make you feel at home in their little cozy cantina/restaurante!!!
