I wont even read the rest of these reviews....I did that before we went to Vegas in Sept 2009, and it scared us, as we had made reservations at Binions. When we got there we expected the worse, but let me tell you all, I am not new to staying at Casinos, including the Golden Nugget, I have NEVER been treated with such great service, great comps, friendly staff, super slots, AND GREAT ROOMS WITH EVERYTHING, as BINIONS GAVE TO US. We had two rooms in newer tower, both were clean, neat and nice. I would say they are motel 8 type, and that is good. These rooms were not luxury like the $300.00 a night hotels may have, but your in Vegas baby, so why all the fancy frills anyway. We had a blast and WE WILL STAY AT BINIONS EVERY TIME WE VISIT VEGAS, WE LOVED IT THERE. I am in no way connected to Binions, I am from Topeka, Kansas.
The Family shood feel shame for trying to set up them two poeple who i seen i tv tonight about the trail, when they day come that there are standing in front of twelve strangers decidering the rest of your liffe I hope the Family will get the chance and see how that feels. when you know that you didnt do anything wrong have your chance to feel it.
As far as the casino and food are concerned I would give it 3 stars, however DO NOT EVER STAY THERE!!! The first room that was given to us was hot- we asked to be moved to a different room, which was done right away, however the shower head was broken and while it as a little cooler than the first it by no means was comfortable, the carpet was so filthy that we did not want to walk on it without shoes, when we called to the front desk we were given another room, but it was hotter than the first. Needless to say that we checked out the following morning and demanded our money back- we checked in at the STRATOSPHERE and were extremely satisfied with their rooms as well as with their staff.
I have been to pretty much all of the finest steakhouses in Las Vegas and have been eager to try Binions, what a joke!! Starting with the bread, inedible! The beef Carpaccio was as thick as a carne asada and no taste! The crab trio tasted like water with no crab taste at all and all of this was just the first course!! It got worst from there! The house salad was drenched in some kind of raspberry vinaigrette (thick as molasses) and the shrimp scampi (which was recommended by the waiter) tasted like it came from some $4.99 buffet. The only reason i gave it 1 star was the wine, which was picked by my date. I am also in the service industry and would never recommend this restaurant.
I wouldn't call this a must stop, but it is FUN. It has the old Vegas feel. The meat was very good. Wine list was weak at best but the cocktails were good and strong. This place is not cheap, but good steaks rarely are.
Hubby and I ate here in 2002 and came back again this year in 2007.. Each time we had excellent service, a wondeful view on the 24th floor right after sunset, and very good food. My hubby got the regular cut Prime Rib..rare..and it was the thickest prime rib you have ever seen. I had the petite fillet...(not a lot of meat but I didn't want a lot ) It was very tender as it should be.
My garlic mashed potatoes were creamy and to die for along with the steamed asparagus...my favorite vegetable.
For dessert we shared a piece of the most delicious cheesecake I have ever had.......and it was a HUGE PIECE.
Our steaks came with a potato and vegetable...which is unlike a lot of the other high end Vegas steakhouses where everything is priced a la carte....separately.
IF you want a very very good meal and a great view...............this is it.** *NOTE............you must make a reservation . We made ours online from their main website about 6 days before we flew out to Vegas.
The best steaks and reading what the only person who didn't like it said, was a joke. They don't sound like anyone I'd invite to dinner, and the only ones with a bad experience. That's because of them .. think about it. We all can't be wrong! Great food at the Horseshoe and famous in Vegas for decades from their fine dining when most of us never went downtown but to the strip.
