Cattle Baron Steak & Seafood, Roswell

I have had my ups and downs with this place I loved the steak teriyaki but after the last time I got it and it was not cooked the way I wanted then when they gave me a replacement steak it was too done then the third time it had something nasty sticking out of the steak so I gave up on that dish . the next time I went I got the green chili stew and that was great! The service is good sometime and not so good others I guess you just have to go on a good day! recommend if you like steak and seafood and can afford the 50+ check.

The food at Cattle Baron is about as good as it gets which includes most of the servers.and if Terry or Ronhappen to serve you,youare in for a treat.As for my self I prever the lounge to be served and to be entertained by Ron the bartender.No matter what, thatyoung man knows his business and takes care of his patrons.To my dismay I found out that Guy took Rons shifts and I there for have to change my visits to when Ron works the lounge and beleive me the wait is worse it to spend my money on good food,drinks and a good tip for exellent service.There is no way that I can relate to Guy nor is it fun to hear him talk about his other interests.All I can say,hang in there Ron, we will only visit C.B.when your are working in the lounge.What was management thinking? Hope that Guy sells as much and has as much fun as you do Ron,we truly appreciate you.

Found Cattle Baron through the good folks over at the Art Gallery across the street. I sat at the bar and Guy was an excellent host. I ordered the Peppercorn Pressed Sirloin = I would rate it maybe a little above average - for 21.95 it was "okay". The sweet potato was awesome as well as the salad bar. The chicken veggie soup was top notch. Like previous post - the salad bar is the star of the place. I look forward to returning with my family one day soon. I really enjoyed Baron's - plus Shiner Bock on tap - giddy-up buddy!!! I will pass along good comments about Baron's to friends and family.

As first time visitors to Roswell, we asked at our Hampton Inn for a good restaurant and the desk attendant recommended the Cattle Baron Steak & Seafood. We took her word for it and ate dinner there 9-24-07. Hubby had the 8 oz sirloin club with baked potato and chicken noodle soup. His steak was cooked as ordered and the soup was delicious. Our baked potatoes were perfect, served with bacon and cheese with sour cream and butter on the side. I ordered the 8 oz prime rib, medium rare, and as prime rib goes, it was flavorful but a bit chewy. I can't get past the gristle around the edges and this piece had a little too much fat but again, the flavor was good. I took a turn at the GIGANTIC salad bar and was impressed by the selection of fresh fruit, light desserts, pasta and rice salad, fresh vegetables and even the salad mix was light and fresh, although it was made up of iceberg lettuce. All around, we had a very good meal at a reasonable price. My steak was priced at $17.50 and hubby's at $14.95 and with the inclusion of the GREAT salad/soup bar, we agree that the meals were priced right. Next time you are in Roswell, NM, don't hesitate to eat a lunch or dinner meal with the great folks at the Cattle Baron. You won't go away hungry or disappointed.

The food is excellent, as is the service and atmosphere. Love the salad bar. Recommend the Crusted Halibut--delicious! Best restaurant in Roswell.

I love to go here for lunch or dinner. Thier salad bar is huge and you can make a meal out of the soup and salad bar alone. They have wonderful steaks (the best in town in my not so humble opinion). The service is excellent. They also have a lounge and serve drinks with dinner.
