Benihana, Edison

Never ever go to Edison one, it s horrible service. We had a reservation and stil had to wait for an hr and no apology rather we got attitude from the front desk staff. They need training in customer service and worst was the manager who was like his staff, rude, arrogant, pathetic. The worst service had ever seen in whole staff. They don t care for thier customer and don t care for their business. I will never go their again. I wouldnt even give 1 star rating. They suck!!

worst expierence ever!! service sucked!!!! we made reservations and still had to wait 45 min... when we seated it took almost 40 min just to get our drinks and still missed one of my friends drink!! and another 40 min for the chef to come.. we were there from 7:20 and left out of there at 11:30.. worst ever.. but at least the food was good

Very disappointed in this hibachi chain. Heard rave reviews for years about this place and we understand it's in a great location (being across from Menlo Park Mall), but the food and service were far from great. The Shogun chains are so much better. We had to ask for drinks 2-3 times, didn't get the white rice till the end of the meal, and the food was just...okay. If anything, go there for the drinks and then leave.

I love coming into Benihana for their lunch specials. It's such a good value for all their food, and the chiefs are wonderful!

Experience here depends on which chef you get

Located in the Ocean County Mall in Toms River, NJ this by far was my best dining experience during my trip to visit my family. Chefs put on a show which includes an onion volcano, a beating heart made with rice, and quick hands cooking your food right in front of you, a must try if you are in the area! For the small mall that it is in, this Benihana is a gem.

Went here several months earlier and enjoyed entertainment & food. Returned and were extremely disappointed. Our chef gave us no show whatsoever. The food was ready too quickly. His chicken had absolutely no flavor, no spices (bland) and my mango shrimp was undercooked. Without a good show by the chef and average food, the prices do not make this place worth the $$$. Perhaps it was our chef, but we won't be taking another chance.

Some people rag on Benihana but I have to come down on it's side. The sushi always tastes fresh and is prepared well and in interesting ways. The hibatchi style food is great too. It may seem "gimicky" but it's a fun place to get great food and friendly service. The Edison location is fantastic, it is a done in New York style in a suburban town. Highly suggest going after a long day at the mall
