The Old House Restaurant, Santa Fe

We've been dining at The Old House for years. Jesus is our favorite server, Charles a close second. Bring your camera; the food is as beautiful as it's delicious!

Old house is a class act! nice setting, high quality.

For a night out in Santa Fe, when you are willing to spend a few bucks, The Old House cannot be beat. Not necessarily expensive for a fine restaurant, however

For many years when Martin Rios was the chef, the Old House Restaurant was one of our favorite dinner places in Santa Fe. They now have a new chef, Paul Wade; he has glowing credentials from Aspen. Unfortunately, the quality of the food has declined markedly. The reduction on the beef ribs was far too salty. The duck was dry, stringy and tough. Each of these were $32. I would be hesitant to recommend anything on Chef Wade's new menu. This is one of Santa Fe's more expensive restaurants. Besides that, the service was poor. This is an experience that we will not repeat in the future. There are many other places to dine in the city.

You can t get better than Old House. I ve been dining there for years and I m always happy. Wonderful flavors, free valet parking, excellent service and a beautiful setting. If you re worried about money, try it out during specials like Restaurant Week.

The Old House is COMING BACK!!! What an amazing dinner my family and friends had at The Old House for my 30th Birthday Party. The entire staff was so attentive to our every need. I expected the food to be outstanding but I was pleasently surprised. It was better than outstanding...it was perfect. The incredible staff and impecable food made our event as perfect as it could possibly be. Thanks to all involved in the preparation and completion of a beautiful evening.

. . .and that may spell trouble at The Old House. For years, Chef Rios has been the guiding intelligence at this Santa Fe standby, but as of March 2006 he's left to head for Anasazi, where he's going to try to being that once-proud name back into prominence. Frankly, my wife and I have felt for some time that thngs had gotten a bit stale at The Old House, and so change may not be all bad---but visitors should be aware that notesd and reviews of dinners before February 2006 may not truly reflect the situation there.
