During our annual visits to SF we dine at this restaurant. It's one of my favorite in SF! Great food, beautiful presentation and excellent service. My only complain is the restrooms; they are so antiquated. I know the place is very old but a restaurant of this caliber can do better; they did not have a hook for my $1500. Gucci handbag! Other than that, we very much enjoy the annual visits.
We just had dinner at Geronimo's and I was completely blown away. The food was amazing, the service impeccable, the portions on the larger size for a fancy place, VERY generous pours for glasses of wine, and a cheese platter with almost too much cheese! We were there for almost 2 hours and felt neither rushed nor neglected. I made a meal out of 3 appetizers, and we're still talking about the lobster bisque! We don't often drop $200 for dinner, but this was a wonderful meal and a great experience.
I have never failed to get great service here. The Elk was slightly overcooked last time, but the next night it was great. Took our kids for their birthday last time, and the staff was very gracious. My favorite place to eat in the world.
Everything was great. We had a great server. We were in Santa Fe on a whim and at Geronimo on a recommendation. It was great. I had a light halibut dish and my wife had a very flavorful buffalo dish. The bar gets a little crowded if you have to wait, but they make great drinks and everyone was so friendly. It's definitely recommended and we're going back this fall.
OK, so I have read the other reviews and I have taken my time to really think about our experience and I have to say my only interest in writing a review is to advise everyone to really consider the other great alternatives in Santa Fe.
My girlfriend and I are not very critical because we understand the business quite well and we understand that a resturant can have a bad night. But if your going to charge four star prices you better have your game face on every night. The food was BAD and for the PRICE it was really BAD.
Santa Fe has many fine resturants, this review is only encouraging you to look elsewhere because the image of Geromimos is all show and NO GO.
Geronimo was the greatest dining experience we have ever had. The food, the service and ambience was just indescribable. I would reccomend this restaurant above and beytond all. I have eaten all over the world and this is the place I will return to forever.
I took my girlfriend for our 5 year anniversery, and we loved it. We are in our early 20's so we got weird looks but the service and food was mind blowing. The wine parings were excellent. My grandfather is a 3 star master french chef and I havent eaten anywhere in New Mexico that can compair with this place. Very pleased
