Tia Sophia's

Description

There are many places in Santa Fe that claim to serve authentic New Mexican food, but at Tia Sophia's, you'll discover what authentic really means. This is a popular restaurant, so be prepared to wait. For breakfast, the most popular item is the Breakfast Burrito. This flour tortilla filled with scrambled eggs, cheese, potatoes, green chile and bacon will stave off your hunger for the rest of the day. The chile here is hot enough to cure the common cold, and the Green Chile Stew is authentic and delicious.

Fave dish is a hand held with sausage and red salsa, cx the cheese or order on the side to share. (it way too much) Least favorite about the place is their coffee. I'm not sure why but its just not that good. I can say the service is fast, friendly, and local. The food is good, not amazing, but it will satisfy you. It's a little over priced in my opinion but then it is on San Francisco St and they have to pay what must be a queen's ransom in rent. I do recommend this place but don't expect too much from the hype.

I was born and raised in Santa Fe and I know authentic New Mexican food - and Tia Sophia's is it. Every time I go back to visit, I always eat there a few times. They are affordable and tasty and truly authentic. Well worth the stop.

If you love Green Chile get the breakfast burrito. A large burrito smothered in a Green Chile Sauce, to die for!!!! My wife is from the area and we never miss a chance to have breakfast at Tia Sophis's when were in Santa Fe.

Excellent! My breakfast burrito was awsome! Everyone was nice and everything we had was spicey, flavorful and delicious. A must for breakfast when visiting Santa Fe...but plan for a wait...It's a busy little place.

We just wish they were open at night. Wonderful food and staff. The lady that greeted us was fun and helpful. Made our stay in Santa Fe perfect. We will go back again and again.

One of Santa Fe's Best New Mexican Restaurants
By ,
I gladly stand in line at lunch time to wait for a table at this downtown gem. On Wednesday's I get the chalupas. The enchiladas are fantastic as are the burritos and the rellenos. I love the green chili and it is not watered down for the tourist crowd here. FYI, Diego's at DeVargas mall and Tomasita's at the Railyard are owned and operated by the same family.

Great place to eat

The food is very good and the service is excellent. A very good breakfast menu with a great offering of NEW Mexican food. The chili is just right, but you should ask which is hotter...red or green. If you can't stand the heat (spice), the safe thing to do is order the chili on the side. One of our favorites in Santa Fe.
