Shed Creative Cooking

Description

This 17th Century house is tucked away at the back of a beautiful little patio and surrounded by a number of little shops. At the Shed, you'll enjoy the friendly service, lively atmosphere and satisfying dishes. The specialty of the house is the Blue Corn Enchiladas smothered in red or green chile. If you are timid with the chile, this is a good place to eat. The heat factor is low, but the flavor is great. The Posole, a hearty stew with hominy and pork, is great on a cold day. The Shed has been recognized countless times for its cuisine. You must visit!

Fun place with lots of character and a staff that works hard. The food was good, better than I expected in a tourist area. Would go back again.

Lunch on a Thursday was about a 25 minute wait around 1'ish. The courtyard is so picturesque. I was seated in the corner or a cramped room. The space is very limited. I had the bowl of green chile stew (excellent), a small salad and drink. It was $12, which I found a little pricey. But.......vacation is a good splurge.

I love this place! We went not expecting much and were very impressed. Our food was really excellent. I wasn't a big fan of New Mexican cuisine but the food here changed my mine. The place is very charming with narrow doorways and passages connecting the different rooms. Service was very attentive and very pleasant.

Blah. The service, the food, the experience. Blah. As a true native Santa Fean I truly don't know why this place is so popular or widely recommended. I would be embarrassed to recommend it!

a little overrated

We heard great things about The Shed but were not amazed by it. It was good, but not stellar. The desserts were very, very good, though

Mexican

The Shed was one of favorite places to go in Santa Fe. It is kid friendly and reasonably priced Mexican. It has been in Santa Fe for many years and when we moved there, it one of our great finds. Whenever we visit, we stop at The Shed. The margs are yummy too and I love their slasa.

We were just in Santa Fe for the day. I had read several reviews, and we decided to brave the long wait and eat at the Shed for lunch. The primary problem was the lack of service, and we did receive one of the tables tucked away in a corner (at least we had a view of the patio). We had three different wait staff, and nobody took ownership of our table. The food wasn't bad, however, the red chile sauce had no flavor. The green chile sauce was almost too hot. It wasn't awful, but certainly not worth the money or the time. Next time, I will find a place that the locals recommend.

There's better and cheaper New Mexican to be had, but it's pretty good for what it is. Great margaritas and lovely decor.

Excellent food and prices. The only problem is that everyone knows how good it is and the wait can be long. Even if you don't call for reservations, the Shed is worth the wait. We were planning to go to a different, highly recommended resturant later in our stay but opted to go back to the Shed. The food was so good that we broke our own rule and went back to the same place twice.

Lunch: After a 40 minute wait, we had a server who cared service was slow but excellent. Food was slow to arrive and indifferent in taste. The potatoes in the green chili stew were still uncooked. Not a fun visit.
