Burrito Company Cafe
With the often pricey breakfast and lunch options close to the Plaza, the Burrito Company Cafe stands out for offering affordable and quick, yet quality New Mexican food in an informal setting. The breakfast menu mainly consists of inexpensive breakfast burritos, but there are bagels and breakfast bagel sandwiches as well. Lunch is chiefly comprised of tacos and burritos, served with sides of Spanish rice, beans and hominy. Feel free to dine alone here; you'll find this place packed with local business people at the lunch hour doing just that.
very poor food with unkindly high price!!!! we ordered traditional egg and hash brown, which was sooo poorly done that we asked for a box to take it out, eventually my poppy loved it. all for a price of $22, ouch! we asked for one side single pancake, told it was $3 ! what a rip off of a place. will never go there. poorest restaurants in albuquerque, would have made it better and better tasting!
Working downtown, there are many lunch time options. I have tried many of the items on the menu, but visit the burrito company multiple times a week for one reason; the breakfast burritos. Undoubtedly one of the best values in town for a breakfast burrito. The remaining menu is a good value for the price, but average quality. I would recommend this spot for anyone looking for a quite, quality meal.
This is a counter-service place where they call out your number. We were drawn in by the music and that day's special, fish (tilapia) tacos. The tacos were good as was the bean burrito with green chili on top. Everything comes with spanish rice, beans, and posole. The iced tea and coffee were good too.
I come here for the breakfast burrito, period. It kicks ass, trust me on this. I would make the hike down from my cabin to the city just to grab two of these for me and my wife and go.
I like their lunch burritos too, although I really prefer other burrito places to this one for lunch. It will do in a pinch, but usually the wait behind gaggles of tourists is not necessarily worth it.
