Tiny's Restaurant & Lounge

Description

Since 1950, Tiny's Restaurant and Lounge has been serving great food to the residents of Santa Fe. Because it is not on the Plaza or Canyon Road , it has been able to maintain a cozy, hometown feel. Outdoor dining on the patio is a crowd favorite during the summer months. Everything on the menu is delicious, but for an especially delectable treat, try the Fajitas. The fresh chips and salsa and homemade tortillas add a special touch to every meal. Live music fills the room every Thursday through Saturday.

Best Karaoke we've observed
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/22/08
Great! Wait staff was very hospitable. Food was good. Entertainment was awesome. The best karaoke we've seen. We enjoyed them more than a live band. Enjoyable evening. People of all ages were there singing, dancing and enjoying the music.

Good neighborhood bar
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/16/08
Tiny's is a funky little place. The Mexican food is pretty good, but it is pretty much just standard fare. The bar area is quirky with a lot of local color.

Chicken-Fried Steak is Gone...
By David N., 12/3/07
...but you can have it on Thursdays. We went there for lunch after hearing an ad for Tiny's on the radio. They neglected to say you could only have chicken-fried steak on Thursdays. We went there on two consecutive Saturdays for lunch. The only server was a rather reluctant barmaid each time (though it was two different gals). Not only is that great dish unavailable, but the fellow who held the joint together, Noah, is gone as well. I'm not sure what's going wrong at Tiny's, but it needs a shot in the arm. Now, I can live with all of the above shortcomings, but last week, when I ordered my combination plate with lots of "Christmas"--red AND green chile gravies--it came with a mere teaspoon of each. Inexcusable!

For Real New Mexican Food, Try Tiny's
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/12/07
We were pleasantly surprised by the friendly and professional attitude of the servers, which lent to the eating experience at Tiny's. If you ask for more hot sauce, they are quick to accomodate. The atmosphere is what you make it. You can choose any of three or four eating rooms. We saw the mayor of Santa Fe there, and it seems that it's not just native Santafecinos who love the place, but local artists and eccentrics of all stripes. Now to the food--they actually make things the way that you ask them to at Tiny's, but trust them to give you a great plate of real New Mexican food if that's what you like. People we eat there with enjoy the fajitas, steaks and burgers, while I just adore the tamales and chiles rellenos. I've had the chocolate cake, and that's reason enough to go to Tiny's. A really unusual feature for Santa Fe is Tiny's ample parking lot-there's never a problem finding space. We have been surprised a couple of times that Tiny's wasn't open on Sundays and Mother's Day, but then, it's a reflection of their local values. Calling first is my advice so you don't have to re-arrange your evening.

I Love Tiny's--It's Eccentric but Excellent
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/17/07
Tiny's, an unpretentious classic restaurant of Santa Fe, is a trip down memory lane to any decade you choose, from the fifties on upward. It doesn't pretend to be anything but an efficient, respectful place to restore one's self. The food is as good as it gets, and we loved the new offering: chicken-fried steak. The chocolate cake we had for dessert last time is unchanged, as are the sumptuous fajitas. I always have a tamale (authentic New Mexican speciality) with a chile relleno. The atmosphere is unlike any other in Santa Fe; only a visit will show what I mean. Tiny's is a classic which continues to improve with time.

not really on Pen; it's on Early Street
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/6/07
As of 5Oct2007 Yahoo! shows the address for this place (official postal address?) as 1015 Pen Road, Santa Fe, NM. The Overview states that because it is not on the Plaza or Canyon Road it has been able to maintain a cozy, hometown feel. Well, maybe it's hometown because you have to be a local to find it. I had a GPS with a moving map display, and the address. I drove around and around, asked a couple people at a gas station, and even called the restaurant but only got their answering machine. After I searched and searched, I finally got pointed in the right direction and I can tell you it's not really on Pen; it's on Early Street, other side of St. Francis Dr from Pen. Whatever. The chips were warm and salted perfectly and the salsa was OK. The fajitas were fresh and tasty. It was Friday night and there were some bands but even though I drank the Corona slowly but there was just too much time between music sets. I arrived just as one band was packing up, finishing my meal just as the next band hit the first tuning note. The waitress (opps, I mean food server) tasted the couples drink at the next table when they told her their tea tasted like coffee. She said she thought it tasted like tea, but she then got them another and they seemed satisfied. The same food server then sat down at two other tables to take the orders, even helping herself to a pen (borrowing) right from a guys shirt pocket to jot down their order. She pretended she couldn't hear my order, like I was so soft spoken. It's obviously her shtick and it was funny enough. I'll return perhaps but I don't get to Santa Fe that often and I still want to hit the other good restaurants....

Great Local Experience!
By Jack M, 5/4/07
Tiny's is a local joint that serves good food in a relaxed atmosphere; this is the least pretentious restaurant and bar in Santa Fe. (Try the Flautas: you will not be disappointed.) And note that Tiny's features live music Thursday through Saturday night--local groups provide the entertainment. Visit Tiny's for a genuine local Santa Fe experience!

See More of Santa Fe at Tiny's
By Jeanne, 3/20/07
The very center at the Plaza is geared towards tourists, and is filled with them. Just a couple of blocks away from Guadalupe historic district in downtown Santa Fe is Tiny's Restaurant & Lounge. The place is big enough to be what you make it, and unlike the Plaza has free parking. The food is just great, if you like New Mexican cooking, and why go to a restaurant here if you don't? Both locals and visitors enjoy Tiny's, where the sizzling fajitas and the chiles rellenos are delicious.

Stress-Free Dining at Tiny's
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/4/07
Ample parking, friendly and respectful service, and great northern New Mexico food make eating at Tiny's a good habit for residents of Santa Fe. Visitors will get a taste of local color and style, just a few blocks away from the Plaza.

Tiny's Restaurant & Lounge:
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/5/07
Good old Santa Fe atmosphere--I mean the traditional one of the people. Interesting artifacts, big bar and dance floor add to the flavor of the northern New Mexican food. Reasonable prices and friendly, dependable service who appreciate your presence. Ample parking and a patio fill the bill at Tiny's. Last week, we listened to The Wise Guys, a four-piece band who play all types of music and New Mexican polka too. People have fun dancing at Tiny's; you should check for which nights and the bands are always changing. To finish, Tiny's chocolate cake is out of this world!
