I Love Sushi Teppan Grill
I Love Sushi has made a name for itself with the Midtown crowd, and is usually pretty busy during lunch and dinner. Located in the Fiesta Del Norte Center, the easy access and quick service only adds to its popularity. The food is flavorful and fresh with servings large enough to fill you up. Try the egg rolls that are overflowing with just the right combination of ingredients. A nice selection of vegetarian dishes, plus teriyaki and sashimi, round out the menu.
The sushi was good, the tempura was really not tempura, but just breaded and fried shrimp and vegetables. Restaurant is clean and staff friendly. Certainly better than Sushi Gen down the street.
I give it an average because of the non-sushi experience, but the sushi is very good by American standards. The fish slices are generously sized, unlike most sushi places here, where the rice dominates the sushi. For sushi only, I rate it good/four stars.
The sushi is basic but tasty and well worth the price. If you're looking for a variety of specialty rolls this isn't the place to go, but if you just want to crave your sushi fix then I Love Sushi is a great place to go. The wait staff is friendly and prompt. Been there many times with no problems.
walked in and made a to go order. Waited hour and 1/2 for my food despite the manager knowing of my wait. When I placed my order they said around 25 minutes. If I would of known that it was going to take that long would have gone some place else. Then the rolls were not very tight together. would fall apart when trying to pick them up. This happened twice now. The food was good. Giving them one more try.
I am from Houston so this is great sushi compared to what I am used to. I love the green chile roll and the shrimp tempura! and I usually don't like rolls. Every time I have gone it has been a great experience!
I thought the rolls were ok, but poorly rolled, and kept falling apart!! seems we waited forever for our waitress to fill our drinks when we ran out!! The Teppan grill was not that good, and thier sauces were not saucy!! Scallops were better than most places!! Was not that entertaining, I was just overall disappointed cause the other reveiws here were pretty good!! But unfortunatly very poor Japanese Restaurant!!
The sashimi is of top quality, and the rolls are very tasty. I did enjoy the flavors and the selection, however, I find the rolls are wrapped extremely loosely - so much so that they were somewhat hard to eat. I am suspecting the skill level is just not the same as other sushi bars I have visited. Also not the best looking place to eat. But it is pretty affordable and overall a good from me.
We just moved here are few months ago and went to several Japanese resturaunts and Sushi places looking for a great place all around! We found it with I Love Sushi. There Sushi is great quality and there Teppan grill is very well done with lots of food!! Eating at the Sushi bar is great, the Sushi chefs are funny and entertaining. The Teppan Chefs are quiet but do a great job. We have three children and my children love to go there.
