I do believe I have found the WORST restaurant in ABQ. As Vinson said...the signs are rude. I WISH I had gone to Flying Star instead of this place. I am a huge fan of Thai, but the food in this restaurant was the worst Thai food I have ever eaten! My boyfriend and I were the only people in the restaurant and they still could not get our order correct! The shrimp tasted very old, the curry had so much coconut milk in it that it tasted like candy instead of curry, the noodles were so chewy that we couldnt even bite them in half!! To top it off there was a bug on our spring rolls that refused to leave. I HATE BUGS!!
It took the waitress 15 minutes to figure out we were not eating our food before coming back to our table, as she was sitting eating her own... again we were the only people in the restaurant.
The service and the Food in this restaurant are terrible. Save yourself a trip and go to one of the great thai restaurants in town.
Couldn't agree less with the other review. The food is GREAT!! Service is what you can expect from a small Thai restaurant. Not bad, but not four star by any means. Coming from Chicago we had our favorites back home and imagined that it may be difficult to find good Thai food. We really love the food and it is very authentic.
I'm giving this restaurant 4 stars to bring their AVERAGE rating up where it deserves. My husband and I moved to ABQ 8 months ago - can't find a good Chinese restaurant, or at least what we're used to, so began trying Thai. This little restaurant is a very good Mom and Pop eatery. The service was very good, the good was excellent. Everyone has good and bad experiences wherever you go, but for us, we will be going back frequently. No more searching for Chinese. Krung Thai is where we'll be. The Spring rolls were very good - larger than what we are used to, the grilled shrimp delicious. Coconut ice cream - lovely and Jasmine tea - yummy. And for the Flying Star fan - typical pricey Bistro food... nothing outstanding whatsoever. Give this little place a try!
We've been coming to Krung Thai for years, before and after new ownership. We have always been treated well. There are several dishes on the menu that we really enjoy, including the fried rice, the coconut soup and the yellow curry with chicken. Spring rolls are generally very good, and we love the fish sauce that comes with them. I'm puzzled by a couple of the other reviews posted here because my experience with Krung has been so very different. And, in my opinion, you cannot get a better coconut soup than what is served here in Albuquerque. We give it a thumbs up and would recommend the place to anyone that likes Thai food.
