Could not afford to eat there due to owner of establishment does not pay for his sign repairs to the building.

I have found that the people at Monroes are awesome.The food is above average and the service is spectacular.The prices are fair and the staff goes out of their way to make sure that everything is just right.I take all of my out of town guest to Monroes to let them know what New Mexican food taste like.I am very happy to write this review.

I have eaten at Monroe's for years and their is not a more consistent good New Mexican Food establishment in all of New Mexico. Their guacamole is made fresh multiple times daily and they never use fillers. The green chile is one of the very few that is not bogged down with a rue and you can actually get the true green chile essence. Service is always friendly and the place has been serving locals since 1962. Restauants don't last 45 plus years without doing something right.

I didn't like this place

Lots of people swear by Monroe's, but I just don't get it. I've been their once and I ordered a taco plate. When my tacos were served I noticed they used store bought taco shells? I expect that from a Mexican restaurant in Ohio, not New Mexico. Some places do certain things better than others, so maybe they excel somewhere else. I suggest rolling up the street a little further to Papa Nacho's on the east side Louisiana a mile south of Paseo.

Great Service & Great Value!

I tried Monroe's on Osuna for lunch today. Their special combination platter (1 enchilada, 1 tamale, and 1 taco) came highly recommended. The service was quick and friendly. The restaurant was clean and well kept. The price was very reasonable: $20 paid for lunch for 2 (and we were stuffed!). Sure, they don't serve alcohol... but for a quick lunch, I'd be hard pressed to find a better spot. Cheers!
