Rudy's Country Store & Bar-B-Q
This is bare-bones Texas barbecue, complete with picnic tables and plastic checkered red and white table cloths. Fresh bread is baked daily along with dishes like green chili stew, and Rudy's signature creamed corn. Your barbecue entrees come served on white butcher paper and range from the Barbecue Beef Sandwich, to the Combination Platter of sausage, chicken and beef ribs. The country store offers goodies like ice cream, candy and sodas.
When on vacation back in '04, we stopped in at Rudy's BBQ/Albuquerque, NM and were amazed at how good everything tasted. We ate there 3/4 times while in Albuquerque. Dad always said you could tell a place was good by the the number of cars around. This place was CROWDED at lunch. And you know it has to be good when you see several police officers having lunch there. The one in Norman, Ok is corporate owned and was very good as well. According to and employee at the Norman restaurant, another Rudy's will be constructed soon in the Oklahoma City/Edmond area which is north of Norman. I wish Stillwater, Ok was big enough to have our own Rudy's.
whenever there is a potluck night someone always brings RUDY'S!
the pork is excellant, the bbq chicken supurb, the links amazing, the brisket YUM...everything is good here, the potato salad the green bean salad....and for the portion sizes the prices are great.
I am from Kansas City, and I know BBQ. We reluctantly ate here just recently, and I have to say that we were surprised. The food is actually quite good. They have all sorts of different meats & sides. The brisket was so tender, and it tasted amazing. We liked it so much, we ate lunch at the location in Amarillo on our way home. It was nice to have real BBQ again.
My Dad comes from Arizona to Albuquerque just to buy Rudys sauce....He will not ever use store bought, he'd rather go without! I tried it the other night when he came out to buy some and boy do I know what he means now!! the BBQ sauce is excellent and so is the food!!! Kudos to Rudys!!! Love it!!!!
Rudy's is a must-stop for us when we're traveling through Albuquerque (we live in Phx). Love the food and the ambiance. I order this every time- it's a tradition: Creamed Corn, Green Chile Stew & Peach Cobbler. MMM. Go eat at Rudy's.
love rudys brisket, its the best for brisket, but their green chili stew is just some of the best food i have ever put in my mouth. the problem is i can not get it in texas. if you would put it on your menu in texas it would be a biggg seller for your company. i would buy a gallon a week. please give this idea consideration, thanks
Rudy's you skipped over Las Cruces. At this time there is a empty cafe that used to a Bar-B-Q house that would fit your cafe perfectly. There are many many people here that always go to Rudy's in Albuquerque when ever we are up there. You need to look at coming to Las Cruces so I don't have to drive so far to get good bar-b-q/ I love your food bur 220 miles is a little far for lunch.
