Hurricane's Cafe and Drive-In
Drink and eat in your car at the drive-in and let carhops serve you or go inside the 1950s style diner. The atmosphere is comfortable and cozy, the service is friendly and the food is tasty. Delicious breakfast burritos are popular items on the morning menu. Pancakes are big and made just right. The grill is going strong for lunch and dinner, whipping up things like chicken fried steak and the Disaster Burrito, chicken or beef burritos, smothered with chilly and a mound of curly fries and garnish. Ice cream, sundaes, pie and a children's menu are also offered.
Good Food! 50's style diner with New Mexican food too :) Dear One had the Disaster Burrito... they said it's the size of a football, and they weren't lying! I had the burrito plate... Both very tasty and very good! Kids had Cheese Burgers & Fries from the kids meal... They all raved about them. - Great service and deserves the 5 stars they were given.
Heaven's Diner: This place is great. They have New Mexican food and classic diner dishes. It's perfect for families with picky eaters (like mine). Food is cheap and service is great. The red chile has great flavor. Hamburgers are juicy and big. Everything is BIG portions at great prices. You can also use the drive up and take out if you are in a rush.
Hurricane's is a great all-purpose family greasy spoon. Standard American fare (including a good breakfast menu) with New Mexican food to boot. I'd actually eat NM over American there (waffles are good, pancakes so-so). The enchiladas are very good, as are the tacos. My wife had a so-so experience with a breakfast burrito recently, but overall they are very reliable when it comes to NM cuisine. Don't go for the interior design; food and service are what you will get here. And if the kids insist on chicken strips, you can bring them here and still have a worthy adult meal.
this is a great little drive in, the portions are large, I always have a doggy bag, this is what I miss the most about Albuquerque, saturday morning brekfast burritos and the best bacon I have ever had!, lunch and dinner are faboulous too!, too bad they aren't nationwide!
