Not only does Coaches have GREAT weekly specials (Tuesday - beer pong with half priced drafts and appetizers, Wednesday - karaoke with pitcher, shot and food specials, Thursday - Geeks Who Drink with New Belgium pitcher specials, Friday with TWO Happy Hour deals, Sunday with HALF off drink tabs for Servers (with an alcohol certification)) their staff is fun and friendly. Come in and watch your favorite games on their recently updated TV's, as they have almost every single TV package available for any genre of sports fans. Overall, Coaches is one-of-a-kind for Albuquerque sports bars. Don't go to some corporate place that won't get to know you or remember what beer you drink! COME TO COACHES!

I've frequented this establishment several times since i moved to the area 2 years ago. The staff is friendly and accomodating. The food is pretty decent in both price and quality. Beer prices can be a bit high, however, they have certain beers available for one or two dollars, and the Tuesday Happy Hour Specials are outstanding. I would reccomend this place to someone who wants to watch their sports. I believe they have all the NFL games, but not all the MLB regular season games. It can get pretty busy sometimes, but i've always found the serviced to be fairly efficient. My only knock on the place is the placement of the TV's. But i believe they've done the best they can with the space they've been given. Also, if you prefer premium micro brews, you can rack up a pretty sizeable tab, as the tall premiums are around 7 bucks. Make the most out of this place by hitting up the various happy hours and specials they have. Oh, and the waitresses are pretty cute too.

Went to play NTN there and Marie was very helpful and friendly. I went there on a Monday night and the place was jam packed! They have pinball! Good place overall. I had a cheeseburger and fries that were average, nothing special, but the guy next to me had a beautiful rack of ribs that looked fabulous! Place is pretty pricey on drinks.

I am a local and went to this place on a this Saturday night (9.19.09). My buddy, a Texas football fan who recently just returned from an Army 7 month tour in Afganihstan and a group of friends went there to watch the Texas vs. Texas Tech game the same night as the UFC fights. I am not a big UFC fan so we watched the game out back on the porch the entire evening having dinner and having a few drinks. I personally went inside twice to order a mix drink (cocktail) and then went direclty back out to the patio. The third time I went to order a drink at the inside bar as was asked by one of the UFC bouncers to the front of the bar. I was then told that I had been watching the UFC fights all night (which was a total lie) and was ordered to pay a $5 cover to watch the fights or be bounced out of the bar. I spent over $50 on dinner and drinks and was at the extablishment for more than 4 hrs. watching the Texas vs. Texas Tech. game. I would highly not reccomend this establishment for a local or visitor as the front door personel are very rude and are only out for the money (cover charge). The TV's need updating and there is not enough seating on a night were there are multiple events on. I would highly recommend Saggio's or Sidelines Sports Bar which is the same area of town and has better TV's to see an event. Personally I will not return to this establishment...even on a slow night!

My wife and I are new to Albuquerque we have been to many places all over the world but we would rate coaches among one of the best for food and atmosphere. Coaches offers a very limited selection for their menu with mostly classics however what they do offer is nothing short of spectacular. My wife and I went for the nacho's and beer and after we ordered was promptly brought to our table and so far has been the best tasting nachos in albuquerque. The beer selection is good though just a little pricey, however the food was phenominal for the prices. So far we have tasted the cheeseburger, nachos, fried ice cream and the pork sandwich, which by far has been the best BBQ sauce we have ever tasted. Don't let the outside appearance fool you, this place has to be one of the best eateries in albuquerque which will keep you coming back for more!!!

I found this place through the Plaza Inn staff and Wednesday night Karaoke is the best place to be for me.

Went there to watch the NCAA final in 04/08. The food was above average for a sports bar. Lots of screens to see the game. The most unexpected part for a sports bar, however, was that it was really clean. Worth the visit for a sports game.
