awhile back the hacienda used to be one of the best for red chile like i say used to be. I hadn t eaten their till today. I am sorry to say it is one of the worst places for red chili. flour tortillas had a sweet taste sopapillas were hard, tough and greasssssssssssssssy nothing had a flavor. I was real disappointed i mean real disappointed. To pay $11.00 for what i received it makes me mad, being polite as i am I ate it. as for the guy who ordered steak and enchailadas i agree with him. and if you have steak on ur menu it should be at least a decent steak or DON T PUT IT ON THE MENU This is a very good example of cutting corners. watering down the chili and trying to make a fast buck. sorry to say i will never be back. hint: word of mouth is very good advertisement

Beware of this restaurant if you purchase a gift certificate. THEY WON'T HONOR ANY GIFT CERTIFICATE THEY SELL OR ARE SOLD ON THEIR BEHALF. I received a gift certificate for this restaurant the small print states that the certificate never expires but for a $50 dollar off coupon you must spend over $100. I took my wife, our son and his family of five to the restaurant. we waited for over an hour for our food. when we finished eating and we presented the coupon as partial payment of the $101.70 for tacos and enchiladas they refused to honor the gift certificate. I have lived in Albuquerque all my life, I have never heard anything good about this restaurant. But, I have an open mind and decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. Unfortuantely, this restaurant preys on unsuspecting tourists with bad service, and over priced mediocre food. On top of all that they won't accept their gift certificates. I will never return to this restaurant and I will be sure to let all of my very large family and friends about our experience.

My husband and I decided to visit Old Town and thought we would have dinner there and listen to the music. He ordered a steak and enchiladas. He said this was absolutely the worst steak he ever had. The carne adovada I ordered was not any better. The poor waitress had just started and didn't know what to say when she asked how our food was. We would never make a scene or make her feel bad so we just asked for the check and left the food on our plate and left. I would never recommend this to anyone. It's a shame that in such a prime location, there is no pride in the food. I rather go to Taco Bell.

Decent
By Daniel, 9/10/06
My mother and I ate here after shopping in the store. We had an Entertainment coupon, so it wasn't too pricey. I had Mexican steak with papitas and rice and beans, and it was tasty. My only complaint for this state is...WHY ONLY 1 REFILL ON DRINKS CHARGING $2 FOR? Besides that it was an enjoyable meal with authentic chips and salsa.

words can't express how bad this was
By Kathleen, 8/27/06
my family and i eat a lot of mexican food so we were excited to try this place. it was definitely the worst place we've ever eaten--mexican or otherwise. we couldn't even finish the guacamole, and that's saying something! it was way overpriced too--$10.95 for three cheese enchiladas, $6.95 for a kid's grilled cheese sandwich. avoid this place at all costs.

AUTHENTIC FOOD
By Larry, 9/23/05
This is a place you can really get the authentic feel of New Mexico with some great food. Unless you really like it hot leave off the green peppers. My wife and I stopped in for a quick bite after leaving the airport on our way to Santa Fe. The atmosphere was great and the food was good. The area around the restaurant was interesting that is rich with history.
