I attended Capo's on a trip on a recent trip to Albuquerque. My girlfriend and I were in the mood for authentic italian food. Unfortunately, what we were served at Capo's would hardly qualify as food and left my girlfriend sickened and needless to say, it ruined our night. I don't want to go into the gory details, but believe me when I say, it was horrible. To top it off, they couldn't muster a liquor license so pathetically there was no Chianti or red wine. Unless you have an iron stomach, avoid at all costs.
My family and I wanted to have a relaxing comfortable romantic evening. So we decided to go to Villa di Capo. We were soo hungry we ordered our food right away. We had child with us, so of course, straight to childs meal-$7.50 per meal. We got our food and his meal was like a hand full of it. It tasted as if they used a plain spaghetti sauce from a can. yuck! I had mine, which had fettucine and beef ravioli. There were 3 small pieces of ravioli and 13 strands of fettucine. The ravioli was still frozen in the middle, had to send it back. They just put the plate in the microwave and sent our way. That plate was $12.75. To top it off, our waitress was only there twice, to get our meals/drinks and to give us our bill. We had to ask another waitress for bread and that our meal is cold. We definitely did not want to go to Villa Di Capo, downtown Albuquerque anymore. We defnitely do not recommend it at all.
Run away! Stinky waiter (although nice), terrible, greasy, bland, tasteless food, rude hostess/manager - do yourself a favor and eat somewhere else. I would give it a negative rating if it were allowed.
The last time I went there to eat was with a group of co-workers a couple of years ago, the food I ordered was really fantastic; it was a shrimp linguini plate. The service was really great as well; I'd really like to go back there with my family, and I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys good italian food as well as a pleasant atmosphere.
My husband and I went to Villa Di Capo last Saturday night. While the decor (outdated art deco which I realize is historic) was certainly lacking, the service and the food were not. My husband - a Chicago native - really enjoyed the meat sauce with the Italian sausage on his pasta. He kept calling it authentic. The prices were quite reasonable and the food was hot, tasty and filling. We left satisfied.
