*Good Points on Atmosphere but,... so-so pricing.
Wedged between 1st & 2nd streets is a place called Sushi King. The street location, entrance, ambiance and atmosphere reminded me alot of the hole-in-the-wall Sushi Bars in New York. The service was prompt and courteous almost to the level of pampering you'd find at a 4-5 star resort in Scottsdale. ---I ordered an Unagi, Caterpillar, Spicy Scallop and Dragon Roll. All of these were made with the proper proportion of ingredients however,... with the exception of the Unagi rolls,... they all fell apart when I dipped them in my 80% Wasabi/20% light soy sauce mixture :o( REAL Japanese Sushi isn't supposed to fall apart. -That's how you can separate the good Sushi Bars from the GREAT Sushi Bars. Instead of using true Sticky Rice, some places add sugar or honey or molasses to their rice cookers to simulate the stickiness,... --I guess, if you're looking for an American-ized Sushi Bar, you probably wouldn't know the difference between what qualifies as Good Sushi and REAL Authentic Japanese 'style sushi. --But other than that and, the slightly higher than average pricing (probably due in part to their rent, payroll and misc overhead issues),... the atmosphere, service and presentation were A1.
