Lindy's Coffee Shop

Description

In the late 1920s, when the main street of Albuquerque was the place to be seen, Lindy's was built. Then Route 66 was established and this hometown diner became the place for locals and tourists alike. Breakfast consists of all the normal choices like pancakes, eggs and omelets. The breakfast burrito, smothered in green chile and melted cheese, seems to be a favorite. Lunch and dinner choices are just as varied with fresh sandwiches, burgers and diner favorites like meatloaf. The pie case is always full of fresh pies.

The food at Lindy's is good, the service is fast, and we've never had a problem there. I'd recommend it for anyone with a little time to kill in downtown Albuquerque, but doesn't want to hunt for a decent meal. Although, I found it odd that the TV over the counter was running a horror movie during the dinner hour...

I hate to say it but this isn't an official Lindy's restaurant! They are not licensed to serve anything under the Lindy's name. I also wasn't impressed with the quality of food.

Interesting street corner diner
By ,
Lindy's is located in the heart of revitalized downtown Albuquerque. We sat outside next to the wall along 6th St and people watched as we ate. I had the Philly Burrito. The portions are large, and our meal came to us very quickly. I would have liked a litte more punch of flavor, more like phillies in Philly, but then, I guess that's like wanting hotter chili in Texas like we have in New Mexico. Our waiter provided great service, never ignoring us even though we were out of his way outside. It's definitely worth another experience.

this place has gotten consistantly worse the past few years. it used to be really good. amazingly the prices have also skyrocketed. the food is very slow to arrive and is way overpriced.

Chicken Fried Seak
By ,
I moved to albuquerque eight months ago. One night I walked in and was helped. The food was great, the service awesom. When I go out to eat Lindys is the first place that goes through my mind now. When people from out of town visit me I like to take them to Lindys, it has great atmosphere.

I love this place!!

It's been over a year since I visited Albuquerque, and I still often think of how good their fried chicken was. I'd go all the way back just for the chicken if I had the money.
