Dog House Drive in, Albuquerque

I left the Duke city in 1996 and still can taste those dawgs. I now live in NYC what some have called the hot dog capital of America. In fact I live a few blocks from the original Nathans in Coney Island and I can tell you there is not a hot dog in this burg that can stand next to the Dog House. I am moving back to Alburquerque to retire within the year and you can beat my first several meals will be at the dog house.

I like the Dog House Hot Dogs however...their is not enough chili on the dog!! I like it grilled a little longer. The service order taken correctly would help as well. And I don't think that $3.20 is a bit high for an incorrect order. And I asked for NO CHEESE!!! A bit of advise here, step up the service or the dog house will be another broke down establishment like the Casa Grande. LOCK IT UP!

I like the chili dogs here! They come out of the kitchen very temperature hot but they are awsome.

What everyone else said,that's what I was thinking. :-) This is the best place in town. After you eat these dogs, nothing else even comes close. I lived in Albq. for 25 yrs. and ate there often. NOW I've moved to West Virginia :( and I can still taste those dogs. I'm going back there this summer just to get my fix. DOES ANYONE know what they put in their chili so I can at least make these at home?

A CLASSIC!! THE BEST IN ANY TOWN!! This is a blast from the past with the carhops coming to the car. Been in business about 60 years I'm told. There is a reason for this. Hellooooo!!! This is a local favorite that we share among ourselves. No need to advertise -- it's word of mouth. Used to eat there every saturday before i moved away. Chile cheese dogs with onions are the best ever and the bread is not your store bought stuff. I also like the frito pie. The spice will make your eyes water if you arent used to it, but for us natives... Yum, Yum!!!!!!!

Ditto's re other reviews. Have eaten here since '69 and still don't need the V ! It is a high class...ha ha....of kitsch of old Route 66 of the '50s. It is NOT THAT...ooooeeee...brown Tex chili, but a New Mexican red chile, unique concoction, on your chile cheese dogs with onions. Newbies: get a small order of great fries as an excuse to use some ketchup to help cut the heat. Also, get the Orange soda to compliment the flavor...i.e. not a cola. Noontime tends to be busy during the week when the suits n pearls come over from downtown. Old Town shoppes are about a half mile to the West. Bon Appetit.

This hole-in-the-wall dive rocks! This is the only place I ever eat hot dogs. Warning: if you can't handle lots of spice, get the chili on the side. Enjoy!

WOW! This place is AWESOME!! Dog House definitely makes my fave hot dog. I like the footlong chili dog with cheese and the chili cheese fries. Their chili is awesome: no meat, no beans, kinda like a paste texture. It is very messy, so ask for some extra napkins. I recently tried their chili cheese burger and it was OUT OF THIS WORLD!!! Their prices are also very low for their quality of food. I definitely recommend for everyone to try out this local fave. You'll be coming back for more! P=

grew up on these dogs. switched to the double-chile burger (red) a few years ago. THE BEST!!!

Hello, I have gone to The Dog House many times over the past 8 years. I love their Chili-Cheese Footlong Hot Dogs. I also highly recommend getting the Chili-Cheese Tater Tots. Both are very good and extremely low priced. The servers are nice and courteous. Plus its like an old fashioned drive-in, you drive up and the lady comes to your car, takes your order, goes and gets it amde, then takes it back to your car. just wonderful! I love this place and will continue to go for years to come!
