LA Crepe Michel

Description

The proprietor-chef Claudie Zamet-Wilcox has devoted her life to creating delicious food at this Old Town bistro. Tucked away in a shadowy alleyway, La Crepe Michel has seating for 80 in two rooms. One appetizer is a velvety Pate de Campagne Maison or you might like a bowl of the Soupe du Jour. Entrees include a crustless Quiche Lorraine and savory crepes. The chef tops sandwiches with fromage and broils them to bubbling perfection. For dessert there are more crepes and a Mousse Au Chocolat.

Lovely French-speaking staff opened the outside patio just for us. Dinner was delicious, and the presentation was inventive without being pretentious. Very romantic at night, reasonably priced. A treasure in Old Town.

ooooh la la. This place rocks. So very French and so very yummy. Everything we ordered was excellent! The hardest part was finding the restaurant and getting in before it officially opened for the evening. Nice little fireplace, too.

Great brunch location. You'll love everything about their savory and sweet crepes but don't forget to try their quiche or soup. A surprising find, tucked into one of the very cute and shaded alleys of Old Town. Take a break from browsing the stores and treat yourself to a tasty treat. This small intimate restaurant feels like you are being treated to a meal in a friends home.

First of all, it's La Crêpe Michel. I don't know where the above spelling has come from. Frankly, its very confusing and should not be as such. The Hours of Operation is incorrect. It should read: Tuesday-Sunday Lunch 11:30 am to 2:00 pm Tuesday-Saturday Dinner 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm Everything else is fine. Please go to http://www.lacrepemichel.com for more information and details. Thank You, Christopher Wilcox La Crêpe Michel

Not Just the Best French, But the Best
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/21/07
There are many things to love about this lush bistro and restaurant. Start with a fine wine list, available by the bottle or glass. Appetizers are fresh, with interesting sauces and garnishes. The meals subtle and feature many dishes on conventional or buckwheat crepes. Deserts also feature crepes, as well as favourites such as creme brulee. Dessert wines are also a must. Take your time and relax with the knowledgeable and relaxed staff.

My favorite restaurant
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/20/07
Not only is the authentic French food here as good as there is anywhere, the prices are very reasonable. Also, the owner/chief chef has a Ph.D. from Purdue and based on discussions with her, has a very good understanding of good nutrition. If you want food that is healthy as well as delicious and reasonable, this is the place!

I love La Crepe Michel, the food is exquisite and the ambiance is very quaint and nice. The soups are a must as well as desert. The salmon and filet mignon are phenomenal!
