Real Mexican restaurants don't sell stuffed animals at the door!

My first warning should've been the stuffed animals that were being sold right at the door...ball caps, and post cards...This is a tourist area. I read all the other reviews and thought "oh! most gave it 4 stars, it should be great!"
The food was fine. Thats it...just fine. It was nothing spectacular. And if my boyfriend paid $17.95 for fajitas, you would think you would get better...The chips were out of a bag, salsa was from a jar (any REAL mexican place makes their own)...they DID have a chipotle sour cream dressing that went nicely with the fajitas but that was the only good thing I have to say about the food. This place certainly does not deserve 4 stars for food..or value for that matter...The ONLY reason why I gave it 3 stars, and not 2, was because of the service...the waitress, Pat, was very pleasant and not annoying at all. She gave just the right amount of time between each of her check ups.
Keep in mind, that I have traveled the entire country (I have a lot of experience in dinning as an "out of towner"), I'm a bit of a food snob, and I also am not a fan of Sedona. I don't like the overall vibe...Its beautiful..but I'd rather be outside of the city than in it.
If you want American food with a Mexican twist, this is the place for you. If you've been spoiled with real Mexican food, don't waste your time.
